What to get wife for 2nd anniversary?

Q. Keep in mind money is tight, and time is limited with little kids around the house.

A. I don't know who came up with the list for this, but the accepted "traditional" 2nd Anniversary gift is cotton, and the "modern" gift is china.
I understand money being tight and all, but it's always a nice gesture to surprise your new wife with a gift on your wedding anniversary. Something she can keep and look back on to remember specific anniversaries as you grow old together is nice. Cotton gifts aren't very expensive, either.
Something like a shirt is unlikely to survive for many years, so I'd go with something a little more durable. I saw the sweetest little tapestry in a store the other day: it was cotton, and embroidered with "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you." I think it was under $20.00. It had a little frame and it could be hung on a wall or sat upon a desk or shelf.

takes you to an online store that sells a set of two pillowcases, one embroidered with your name, one embridered with her name, and the saying "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" on them. A set of two, personalized cases is $25.00.

shows a pillow that can be personalized with a special photograph and the year you were married. It's also about $25.00.

Even something like a small, pretty ladies hanky (maybe with her initials on it?), folded around a romantic poem or a list you've written out of all the things you love about her, wrapped in a pretty bow would be nice. If you had your kids help you make the list, I'm sure it would be even more special. Make sure to use good quality, acid-free paper (like scrapbookers use) to write it on, or it may fade the ink and turn the paper yellow over time.
A pretty journal with cotton paper is nice too, and you could fill out the first page with your great memories from over the years for her.
For not so traditional ideas:
Flower petals from your yard (roses, zinnias, poppies, gardenias...whatever you have. Check for bugs and wash!) are so romantic spread over the bed when she isn't looking. If you can afford an inexpensive cork-top bottle of wine, you can soak the labels off the bottle with warm soapy water, and then make her a beautiful, personalized label with pens and acid-free paper or on your computer. Stick it on the dried bottle with a glue stick. I've done this for birthdays before, and it always goes over well. Don't forget the small label on the neck of the bottle, too.
Buy a large, attractive pot and plant several of her favorite flowers or herbs in it. If you choose perennials, they will come back each year to remind her. If you go to Walmart, a large terracotta dish planter is around $5.00, and small 3 inch perennials are around $2.00 each. A bag of potting soil is under a dollar. Just make sure they all need the same care, like all sun plants or all shade plants. If you got all cacti, you could write something in your card about how you're glad to be "stuck" with her. Glue on a pretty fabric bow from the fabric store to make it festive.
If you have a yard, you could plant one special, beautiful tree that she can see.You could paint your initials on it in a heart, like how some people carve their initials into trees. Tell her, as it grows, so does your love for her. Just make sure to dig the hole big enough so it doesn't die.

The possibilities are really endless. Sometimes, when you have the least amount of money, you give the best gifts because they come more from the heart and less from the mall, you know?
Good luck, and congratulations on your anniversary! Many more, too.

Why do I lose my motivation when doing artistic things?
Q. I like to do artistic things that involves drawing, painting, taking pictures, poetry, etc, but I lose motivation and stop doing it. Every year I had a different interest or hobby. I would take tons of pictures of nature, I started to learn how to draw realistic people, I even wrote 2 poems once that for a beginner it wasn't bad. For 6 years when I was a kid I even played an instrument similar to a guitar and I also left it.

I like doing these things but I am kind of lazy because I think why am I going to spent time doing this if not everyone is not going to see it and I'll probably hide it and keep it for myself which is like not doing anything at all.

and when it comes to poetry I get a little ashamed of showing it off to the world because it's very personal stuff ,and probably I may be good at it if I put effort on it.

How can I change my way of thinking and get motivated to do this kinds of activities when maybe I can be very talented if I try harder and don't know it?

A. Your experience is not uncommon with artists.

I know I feel the same way myself. I’m frustrated because I can’t seem to stay with something long enough to “get somewhere,” even while I have obvious talent in a few spots and even some possibility of success.

Part of it, I feel, is lack of discipline on my part. Another piece is that I’m a bit passive – when I don’t know what to do, I sort of give up on that one and pick up a different art to learn. I usually need opportunities dumped under my nose, in order to seize them.

Another part is something positive: You are probably a jack-of-all-trades type, who likes to explore different things and learn new things. Rather than becoming specialized in one, you are probably more a generalist. This is temperament, and a gift in some ways, but it will be hard for you to pursue something doggedly in order to get to the goal.

A few ideas:

1. Set small goals for yourself. “I will paint something each day for the next month,” or “I will practice my guitar 5 out of 7 days this week, for at least half an hour each day.” Pick something small that you can do, that will add up over time.

2. You need to get someone involved. Find someone you trust to show your poem(s) to. Show your other art to people who care. Part of getting somewhere involves having other people know about you, so they can find opportunities for you. (It IS partly about “who you know.”) The more people you share with, the more people who will be working for your success.

3. Use your gifts in small ways. It’s someone’s birthday? Write a poem for them. Paint a picture. Find little ways to use your gifts that help the people you care about.

This is just the beginning, but it’s a start. Just think about how good and productive you will feel by finding some success by sticking with something.

Don't be ashamed that your stuff might not be as good yet as you think it could be -- show it now. Many people will still be impressed, they will appreciate you, and you will be sharing your gifts with others.

Party Favor Ideas for my Daughters 1st Birthday?
Q. My daughter turns ONE on halloween, we are having a party on the 30th it is a pumpkin themed party.. there will be mostly adults at the party but there will be at least 5 little kids ages 6 and under. what are party favors i could give them?

A. awww that is so cute!!! Your daughter birthday is like on halloween that's soo cool that's what i always wanted it to be when i have a kid lol. Anyways... I would suggest Candy of course! And since there will only be 5 kids you can make the bags extra special since you can have more spending money since its not like 15 kids you have to give gift bags too. You can always go for the classic paper bags or plastic bags or if you want to go further you can try more unique looking bags (refer to source to see what i mean). Then add play spiders (you can buy these at the dollar store) , you can also go on an online website and print a scary story for the kids and stable it and be crafty so it can fit in the bag. Well of course these ideas are if you like artsy projects. But if not just stick with candy, your homemade cookies with icing that makes it look like a pumpkin or store bought cookies, toy spiders, and other cool things you see at your craft store.
