Starting My Own Specialty Gift Business?

Q. I want to start my own online based business that allows people to provide me special dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) and I will take care of sending a card, gift, etc on their behalf. Where do I go to get ideas and resources and other help? This is just an idea that popped into my head so it is very much on the ground level as far as planning. Thanks.

A. specialty merchandising corp or SMC can do that for you... its what they do... but it is a tough racket to be in financially
also there is sunrise wholsale in los angeles, and oh 120,000 dozen more.
With a small investment/ startup cap. say around $ 12 to 15 thousand dollars U.S. you can get into it realitively easy...
Many Years ago when I first got into that type of biz? I offered free gift certificates value of $10 thru $100 just to get business in the door and I still did well. * I am not for or against smc but it is a good place to look, get ideas etc... tehir program can work, but you have to work as well... and its not for everyone! well good luck~

I Want to Get my Ex-boyfriend a Birthday Gift?
Q. I met my Soul mate this summer. He moved to Seattle from Los Angeles to be near me. We were only together for couple months and I had a little bit of an Emotional Episode where I got negative. He got turned off and since I had questioned remaining in the relationship in my emotional state he started to pull away, in turn I tried to hold on to him too tight and I stopped responding to our conversations with logic and only spoke through emotion. I did not want to lose him. He's not an emotional person and this just annoyed him. After two weeks of not seeing me he broke with me over the phone said he wasn't going to Deny how strong our connection was or how he never pursued a girl until he met me but that he was starting to get annoyed like he always does and he didn't want to end up hating me like he hates all his Exes. (He's always pictured himself being alone and had a few dreams of what it'd be like to be with someone that he had a strong connection with. But always really just wanted to fly solo in life until he met me.) He said I wasn't emotionally ready for a relationship and that he had compassion for the things I've been through (which is a lot. And he knew that walking in.) but I wasn't emotionally stable because of it. I took the responsibility and the blame for this ending; we're soul mates, which he was the first one to deem that on our relationship and I still believe it 100%. Anyways I tried to fight for him, even though I'm the female... He had expressed to me in the beginning that he had a habit of doing this and I was his healing and the only relationship he ever had empathy towards. Anyways, he wanted to stay friends and when I started fighting for him he asked me not to because he didn't want to not be able to be friends with me, but if I fought for the relationship it would make him feel to awkward to be my friend. So like two days after he broke it off he stopped communicating with me. It's been about two months now and I keep trying here and there to get through to him. Admittedly confessing how crazy and annoying I am, I just can't not fight when he's my soul mate. He told me when we first started talking how felt that I would fight for a man I love and how much admired that. Anyways, two months and he wont respond but has not deleted me from facebook, told me off nor blocked my number; nothing! He just lets me keep trying and doesn't give me a response. By the way, he moved back to LA because the relationship failed. Anyways his birthday is in a couple days and I wanted to do something like schedule and pay for a message at a Day Spa or send him tickets to a concert for his favorite band who is playing in Vegas, with that I would also send a Southwest Gift Certificate and receipt for the Hotel at the concert venue. Obviously I knew this could be taken the wrong way and I don't want to do anymore damage. But I don't except reciprocation and I've communicated that towards him. I honestly wouldn't even care if he didn't use the gifts. Honestly, doing something nice for him would bring me joy and make me happy. I'm a female, I can't believe I'd ever get to this point that seems like pursuit, because I believe that's the man's job. But how do you just not fight for someone your soul mate? and how do you fight smart? Also how come wanting to do something nice for someone could seem like such a bad idea. When we were together he knew I was already making big plans for his birthday so these little gifts would be nothing in comparison.

A. Gift yourself with "For Couples Only," by Shaunti Feldhahn, maybe to learn how to maintain, nurture, and develop such a relationship (even with him, as males tend to be attracted to females who genuinely respect them).

Send him twelve red roses and/or a box of these: http://www.berries.com

He knows you care, and the roses are beautiful and the berries are tasty.

It's more important to let him know you care, with a moderately expensive gift of flowers and/or (I'd say "or") berries, than to overwhelm him with a special and more expensive gift (which could tend to be off-putting to a male, as they tend to find joy in being the provider or giver, in terms of masculine achievement). A better way to his affection would be truly learning what Feldhahn has to say.
