Pokemon birthday gift ideas.?

Ryan

Okay, so it's my girlfriends birthday next week, and she really likes pokemon.
So does anyone know where i can get anything pokemon in oklahoma?

Some ideas:
Pillows, slippers, shirts, dolls.

Anything like that.
Please help.

Answer
Try stores like target or wal-mart. also a new pokemon game for the ds came out just this past sunday. there's soulsilver or heartgold. if she has one already and enjoys playing the games enough you could get her the other one.

eta: the game is actually only $35 on the ds, not $70 like the person below said. and nintendo ds' are only $120, not 200.

Boyfriend Birthday Gift Ideas?

Scarlett F

Hellooo.

I'm having such a hard time picking out a gift for him even though I know his likes. We've been together six months, so I don't know what going to far would mean. I also don't want him to think that if I get him something expensive, I expect something expensive back when it's my birthday.

Anyways, he's a few things he likes:

He writes music - Maybe a journal to write his songs in? I'm having a hard time finding a decent one online, any ideas?

He's a huge The Beatles fan. He likes 60's/70's/80's music but he has A LOT of CD's already. Wouldn't know what he has or not.

He's 23 btw.

He plays the guitar and the bass.

He's a shy guy for the most part.

He still uses his walkman and carries his cd's with him everywhere... I was thinking an Ipod? But... Would that be too much?

I also saw this The Beatles throw that I think he might like.

Please Help! Anythiiiing anythiiing will be of help!

Thanks! :)

Answer
Since he still uses CDs, you could be all old school and make him a mix. Put songs you think he'll like and songs that remind you of the two of you.

A music journal is a nice idea. Have you seen the ones that have blank sheet music in them as well?
Like this: http://www.themusicstand.com/64-Page-Six-Stave-Student-Blank-Music-Book-p/567781.htm

Or here is a nice music themed regular journal: http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Home-gift/Musicians-Black-Notebook-Manuscript-Paper-for-Inspiration-and-Composition/e/9780762403691/

I'm a fan of Etsy and they specialize in a lot of vintagey stuff so you may find some 60s/70s/80s music themed stuff there. It's all unique and make great gifts.

They have a ton of Beatles related stuff apparently! Check it out:
http://www.etsy.com/search?search_submit=&q=beatles&noautofacet=1

An iPod is always an excellent idea for a music lover but it's up to you to try and feel out how he'd react you getting him something expensive. But like another poster suggested, Nanos and shuffles are also great options! You can even get a Beatles skin for it!

http://www.wirelessemporium.com/p-ms-1177598-the-beatles---band-music-skins-for-apple-ipod-shuffle.asp?source=gbase

Whatever you get him, I'm sure he'll love it :)

Birthday brunch ideas for a 6 year old?

Jane Cruz

My daughter is turning 6 on the 16th of January. I'm not sure what to do for her birthday. We live in a tiny apartment and don't want people over and we do not have a party room. I don't want to do chuck-e-cheese. Any ideas. What I had in mind is brunch but where the kids can also play a game or 2 and run around a bit.... i guess maybe a private room at a restaurant BUT im low on cash. Any ideas? I suck at this kind of stuff but my daugther deserves a good birthday she is such a good girl. Last year was a nightmare-I had planned a princess day in baltimore only the morning of her bday my car got towed :*( .

BTW Im in northern va, anything around here would be great.
There wouldn't be a lot of kids, probably 5, the rest are my friends from school.

Birthday Party Ideas? (15 year old girl)?

Olivia

Hey there! So... I'm turning 15 in February (7th) and I'm having a somewhat difficult time coming up with some good birthday party ideas. There are about 10 people I will be inviting (give or take a few) and the majority of them will be girls. I'm actually not even sure if I will invite any guys if it is at my house (my dad wouldn't be too happy about that). Anyways, we all are either 14 or 15 years old and have a decent amount of things in common. I have known all of them for at least 10 months (some I have known for three years, one I have known for 11 years). Some of them don't know each other though (hopefully they will get to know each other during my party). We all LOOVE scary movies, food, music, pranks, and shopping. (I'm thinking the stuff I just mentioned can help you give me some ideas) Since my birthday is in February I can't really do anything like swimming, going to the park, or anything like that. My birthday is on a Friday and if I decide to have a sleepover or something it might not be able to be right after school for a couple reasons: I'm a cheerleader and have a basketball game after school and from 5-6pm I have dance practice that I (may or may not) be able to skip. Another reason I might not be able to have a sleepover (at my house anyways) would be the fact that I have two cats and I know at least two people that are allergic to cats. I might be able to have a sleepover at a hotel (I live in Las Vegas,NV). But I'm not too sure about how my parents would feel about that. Anyways... my birthday party would be between February 7 (Friday) and February 9 (Sunday) so please answer this before January 20. Thanks so much for all ideas you give me! ⺠If I remember anything that I forgot to put here then I will just add it at the bottom. Thanks again!
Also, please don't give me stupid ideas like: Chuck E Cheese's. Thanks...
Another thing! I want my party to last for about 5 hours or so! (If its not a sleepover obviously)

Answer
If you get a hotel room your parents would have to rent it and stay with you in your room. Unless you get a huge suite you're sleep over will be limited to four people to the room. Not only would it be illegal (called defrauding an inn keeper), but Las Vegas hotels tend to run on the small side.

Why not have a Las Vegas themed birthday party. Get some of the play slot machines (about $6 each at the Bonanza Gift Shop) and make some non-alcoholic drinks. You could also see if your parents would let you have your party at the drive-in and see a double or triple feature. Make a night of it with pizzas or something (yes, you are allowed to take your own food in).

Do what YOU want for your birthday. Don't worry about what your friends like (don't like) or if they allergic to cats. You are never going to get 10 or more people to all agree. I've had people who are allergic cats stay at my house and they were fine (we have three cats). Just vacuum the area really well, keep the cats out, and maybe have some Benadryl on hand just in case.

Vegan birthday cakes?

Jamielovee

Anyone have any ideas for a vegan birthday cake? My birthday is in August and I have no idea what I can eat for my birthday.

Another thing. What is a "milk devirate?" I was looking on a list of ingredients for coffee creamer and it said "milk devirate."

Thanks :]

Answer
I think you should either get yourself some good vegan cookbooks or go online,to google, and type in vegan birthday cakes. I,myself, have made a chocolate pudding cake,a chocolate macaroon cake (also for my wedding),a key lime "cheesecake", a strawberry shortcake,a peanut butter cake, a mexican chocolate cake.
You should also do some research on being a vegan,on the internet, because (no offense) you don't seem to know the "lingo" and that could become really bad for your diet. When you say milk devirate,do you mean deviate? It means that it comes from milk, either it's a milk powder,or has some milk in it.
I said the above, about you needing to do some of your own research, for 2 reasons, one,if you truly want to be a vegan, you need to know what the names of animal products are in foods, such as casein, beeswax, gelatin, and cochineal.
The other reason is for your health. You need to be aware of what you need to be eating a lot of and what you should be eating only a small amount of. A vegan diet is just like any other diet, you need to be well balanced with it. You also need to be sure to get enough of certain things like calcium, iron and B vitamins. These are all pretty easy to get, assuming you eat a lot of different vegetables, fruits and grains all of the time (it's surprising how many vegans live off of chips, french fries and cake). As for Vitamin B12,as I'm sure you've heard about,as a vegan you will need to get a vitamin suppliment and/or eat nutritional yeast and marmite. The reason we can't get vitamin B12,isn't because only meat has it,but becuase we've become too clean. Vitamin B12 is found in dirt, which is how cows, chickens, turkeys and any other animal people eat,get it into their bodies in the first place.
I know that this is a little bit lengthier than the question you asked, but I just wanted to be sure that you are aware of how your diet needs to be and that you're healthy. I hope you find yourself a good recipe for your birthday. Maybe ask for a cookbook for a gift ;).
BTW,depending on where you live, but there may even be a vegan cake shop in your area. I know they have them in NYC,and probably in California.Check your area.

A close friend's 18th birthday is coming up, and I'm not quite sure what to get her. Her personality can be described as: outgoing, friendly, eco-friendly, pacifist, humanitarian, vegan, etc. I've gotten one small thing for her (a "go green" bag), but, I'm not sure what else I can get for her. Things that are affordable, and preferably that I can purchase at a store, not online. I'm just completely stumped. Any serious ideas would truly be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer

I dont know your price range, but you can get it within all

16th birthday gift ideas.?

Kunz93

Ok, so im a guy and im 15 and soon its my best friend's (a girl) 16th birthday. now im stuck on ideas as to what i can possibly get her. I want it to be really meaningful since its her 16th however I DO NOT have a lot of money to spend. It just has to be really meaningful to ensure she will love it because she likes sentimental things. have you guys got any good ideas?

thank you in advance.

Answer
Give the birthday girl a gift that she will cherish forever. These sentimental sweet sixteen gift ideas are great to give if you are family or a very close friend. This is a very simple, affordable and adorable gift to give any young lady. Write her a poem or take one from the sweet 16 poems page and re-type it out in a nice, italics font. You can purchase nice frames at any dollar store, Walmart, or Halmark store.

If you are handy on Photoshop, you can take a picture of you and her, and fade the picture out enough to see the poem. Make sure the frame fits and has a beautiful look to it. If you decide to use a picture in your poem, go to your local photography print shop and ask them to print the piece in the size according to your frame.

Birthday gift ideas for 25 year old woman?

irishxprin

The woman in question is my best friend. She lives in London, England and I live in America. I am at a loss as to what to get her! She loves turtles, alpacas, planes, and going out with friends.
Let me reiterate I live in the USA. My best friend lives in the UK

Answer
tiny beanbag turtles of the type used for play or for decoration.
airmail stationary & stickers of turtles & planes
fall apron such as an apple print
dishtowels or potholders
book of comic strips, such as Cathy (ask the post office if there's a special book rate to the UK)
pictures or picture postcards from the area where you live
tiny gift book or bookmarks--The type of item often near the cash registers of bookstore.
Frisbee or other small lightweight game
playing cards & plastic card tray--You might find cards with turtles, alpacas, or planes in the design on the backs. Otherwise, any pretty design will probably be fine if it seems like the colors that she likes.
clear plastic cosmetic travel cases with brightly colored designs & bright zipper (I have a set of small ones in hot pink.) One might be the right size for pencils & pens. You might find a matched set of several small to medium ones. Could include little plastic travel bottles for her to put her cosmetics in.
chain or satin cord necklace with a charm, such as turtle, alpaca, or plane
bangle bracelets

I need a unique, cute, free-ish birthday gift idea for my boyfriend.?

mooboo22

His 22nd birthday is this weekend and I already bought him something expensive, but it is an event and it isn't for another two weeks. I don't want to let his birthday pass without giving or doing anything for him on the actual day...any ideas?

Answer
You can find nice ideas here if you wanna buy stuff that he will love

http://valentinelovecard.com/pg_store.php (look for his style)

Maybe something like a watch. He will wear it every day and look at it and remember about you.

You should also add some love coupons from there (they are free)

http://valentinelovecard.com/pg_love_coupons.php

You can make these love coupons more hot and more important than the expensive gift. And of course you have to act on it and do what you promise in the coupon :)

birthday gift ideas for my boyfriend?

my boyfriend is turning 16, we have been going out for 15 months and i need some gift ideas. I was going to get him 16 small gifts that he would really like, but i need some ideas. he is really into sports especially baseball. please help!

Answer
I would vote fro one nice gift rather than 16 small ones but it's your choice , of course

It depends on what he likes or needs, for example if he into outdoor or a gym you can buy hat or gym bag. For example, No stress hat http://www.cafepress.com/GeoChemBio.551005695 and gym bag: http://www.cafepress.com/GeoChemBio.551005698
Nice gift is an object associated with what YOU LIKE (rather than he likes) because when using it heâll associate it w you. For example, cute throw pillow (benefit in that his parents may appreciate it) , for example cute owl throw pillow http://www.cafepress.com/GeoChemBio.525022325
Matching T-shirts are also fun, for example, for you:
http://www.cafepress.com/GeoChemBio.528414849 and for him http://www.cafepress.com/GeoChemBio.528414869
this way youâll get present not only for him but also for you, which is great

Ideas for birthday gift for a bright 4 yr old girl. Would like suggestions for specific toys/games.?

clllittle

I'm her grandma. I give her lots of books. We have loved collecting Little People but I think she may be outgrowing them. I'm looking for something she might want to spend some time with and probably play with alone.
All your answers are SO great! Thanks so much! She has MegaBlocks which are like big legos. Of course, she has a Cabbage Patch doll and a Cabbage Patch newborn. I've gotten several sets of Fisher Price "Little People." (I love them too.) She does still play with them a lot. She has a great imagination. I'll give her mom a call to help me pick. Your ideas should help me with her birthday and Christmas. Thanks.

Answer
one of my favorite gifts to give to both boys and girls of ages from 3-8 or 9 is an art pack.

I begin with a fishing tackle type box and in the sections of the top I put in things like small rulers, stickers, roll of tape, colored pencils, pens/pencils, scissors, paper clips, and other assorted supplies. In the bottom or larger section I place things like various sizes of markers, crayons, notepads, other drawing tools like stencils . And then I decorate the outside with the childs name, and stickers.

then in another bag or briefcase(even the paper or cloth ones work well--and the child feels like a grownup when they use it. Inside I place things like assorted types of paper, colored(get good quality) drawing paper (get a few different types some for markers, some just for pencils, and some for painting) and maybe add an idea book or two (but no coloring books)

All of these ideas should also be based on the age of the child. and should be used with adult supervision until you are sure the child will use them correctly and safely.

I have been told fequently that these are sometimes the favorite gift that a child has recieved at a bithday party...it allows them to explore different types of art mediums and gives them good self esteem about their work and encourages them to take care of their things.

My own children also recieved similar gifts from me and always bring them up when they talk about gifts they have enjoyed the most....my youngest hated having to give up her "box" when she went to college--it had been with her since she was about 8 and she kept all of her "special" art supplies in it and hid her favorite pens and pencils in it to keep them from her sister.

I'm So Clueless - Birthday Gift For 19 Yr. Old Boy?

cherrylips

In early May, the boy who I dated for the majority of my senior year is gonna be celebrating his 19th birthday. He and I broke up recently, but we may be getting back together at some point (kinda depends on what day you catch us, lol).

I have absolutely no idea what to do for him for his birthday. I'm running out of options -

1. I was recently fired from my job and am very close to broke, so I can't afford to buy anything extravagant.
2. I can't cook/bake him anything (which would be my normal response, since I love to cook) because he's having a dinner party at his house and is insisting on cooking it all himself.

He's a punk, for lack of a better word. Really loves ska and punk rock music. His clothing is bold, colorful, and obnoxious. If I had money, I would buy him clothing or something, like I did for Christmas, but with my funds being so tight, I can't afford to.

I like to sew, and was considering possibly picking up a pattern for ties or some other gentleman's accessory (he loves that kind of stuff) and making them with a really bold fabric, but I'm not sure if I'm experienced enough with sewing to pull that off without screwing it up somehow.

He also likes films (movie-making in particular), reading, music, and many other things.

PLEASE, I'm desperate for an idea, here. I have until May 9.
Umm, I have no idea why this was posted in Languages. That was not of my own doing.

Answer
Get him Streetlight Manifesto apparel...they are having a "stimulus sale".

This website should help out a lot! Just answer the little questions there (for who? what age? etc.) and then you should come to a HUGE list of items that you might like. If you click on the picture of an item it will tell you the price and where to buy it. I use it all the time when I'm out of present ideas. Good luck and here is the site:

What should I put in a small gift bag for Senior Citizens?

skybuddy91

Every month my town's Senior Center has a company provide gift bags for Senior Citizens birthday's. This month it's our turn. We are supposed to make 10-20 small gift bags. They can't be gender specific and I have no idea what to put in them. Help?

Answer
Thought this was an easy question, until I saw "not gender specific. Don't know your budget so tried to keep costs down. How about...

1. A small folding magnifying glass for all that small type these days.
2. Everyone needs a flashlight or two. Love those new LED ones.
3. Pens and small notebook (I have to write everything down now less I forget.)
4. A nice mug for tea or coffee.
5. An eyeglass case.
6. A key chain or fob.
7. Bottle of skin lotion-not flowery-but men get dry skin too.
8. Nice long pair of nail clippers for the toes (hard to find)
9. A letter opener

Finally, something just for fun. Puzzle books or a small handheld game that works on batteries (I have Solitaire and Hang Man). Keeps the mind active.

Hope this helps.

I need birthday party ideas. (read desription! :] )?

Ok, so, I'm going to be turning 13 at the end of May. I know that it's a while away, but I want to start planning. I don't want to do what I always do, which consist of sleepovers, bowling, ect. Also, I do not have a pool if that's what you are thinking. I don't really enjoy things like hair and nails, and also, I want it to be a boy girl party.

Please help me think of something!!!!!!!

Thankyou.
:)

Answer
You're not supposed to be on here until you are actually 13, you know. Read the Community Guidelines if you think I'm wrong. We are all asked to abide by them, including you.

Anyway, try a volunteer party if you want something really different. Phone around and find an agency that needs help (animal shelter, church project, senior citizens' facility, public library, etc) then have your party be a volunteer day. All your friends meet at your house, go together, work together, and come back to your house for food and gifts and things. It's really a lot of fun.

Fun games for my sons birthday?

ashle

We are celebrating my sons birthday next week. He will be 3. Unfortunately most of the guests will be adults and NOT children. So pin the tail/pinata won't work LOL. I bought some gifts and wrapped them up.. So I would like some ideas/games where the guests can win prizes? I'd like to make his birthday fun and entertaining :)

Answer
How about a quiz game on facts of your child, birthday, born at what weight, height, etc
or
Have them use their memory by answering questions about what your child is wearing. Have your child leave the room, and quiz them on his shirt colour, sock colour, type of pants, etc.

I don't know how old your son is, but it should be games that he could be involved in, even if it's passing out papers, pens or other props you'll be playing with. You could also try classic children party games with an adult twist, like musical chairs, etc.

You could celebrate your child, but having him or her in the middle of the circle and everyone takes turns to say one thing positive about your child and wish him well.

You could have some sort of time trial games that involve splitting guests into teams. Have your son pick the teams.

Ideas for wife's birthday?

Josh

We're both 23 and this will be her first birthday, since we got married. My wife's really big on birthdays, and I wanna make this one special for her. She's not into to surprise parties, and we both work so we can't travel at the moment. Her birthdays's Tuesday, so I can't really order anything online. But like what are some romantic ideas? Should we go out, or should I cook her a meal? I thought about cooking her dinner and then doing whatever she wants... Cuddle, watch a movie ect. So just give some ideas if you can. Also, is it wrong for me to initiate sex on her birthday? Do girls like it on their B day?

Answer
Well do it the fun way:

1. Make up a Birthday Gift Certificate that says, "Good for 1 romantic birthday, which includes but may not be limited to the following:

a. A romantic dinner for two in an exotic place in the back yard (or other proximate location nearby).
b. Lots of birthday cuddles and kisses.
c. Optional bubble bath or loofah shower (depends on what you have to work with).
d. Candle light of all kinds.
e. Movie (pick a good DVD depends on what she likes for a movie, not what you want to watch).
f. Sex, at the option of the named bearer of this Certificate.
g. Tax, tips, miscellaneous gratuities and batteries are included.

2. Pick a spot where you want to serve her dinner.

3. Make dinner (her favorite meal).

4. Include a small birthday cake or desert that you know she'll like.

5. Have dinner in that spot and proceed to the movie, sex or both.

gift ideas for a 4 year old?

Snowlion

ok, a close friend of mine recently moved in with me and she has a 3 year old little boy. This child has all the clothes and toys in the world. He wants for nothing. I am looking for some ideas on what to get him for his upcoming 4th birthday. I would prefer something electronic but its not required. Any ideas?

Answer
Instead of getting him a toy of sorts, how about a movie package...... 2 tickets to the theater to see a movie with popcorn & candy & slurpee.....

or how about books..... or how about a CD walkman with a KIDZBOP cd (ask the staff...they'll know what it is).....or how about a wallet with $10 in it.........

but if you're looking for the toy, how about the LeapFrog toys - they are GREAT. I don't know any kid who hasn't liked it. My 6 year old son also loves his Gameboy and VideoNow!!!

Good Luck!

Gift ideas for a 4 year old girl?

Lauren728

I am at a loss for gift ideas for my 4 year old daughter. My husband and I typically get 1 "big" present along with a bunch of little things. For example, for her birthday, we got her a power wheels convertible as the big gift, and things like clothes, movies, and play makeup as the small gifts.

I am having a hard time thinking of something to get for her for Christmas. I am looking for something under $150 if possible.

Any ideas??

Answer
i would head to the disney store. i teach 4 year olds and they are obsessed with disney and anything princess.

does she have a kitchen center?
does she have a little tykes play house?
does she have a kids size table and chair set?

princess costumes, play high heels, cash register and shopping cart, v smile and smartridges, tent...

i also have my own 4 year old little boy and i had trouble finding him something big to get this year too. he didn't really want anything big though...he has all the big stuff so i stuck to lots of smaller things. he just wants a lot of things. he doesn't have the concept of how much things cost yet.

hope you find something great! SD

birthday present ideas?

zoe_babes1

so I'm real bad at coming up with unique birthday present ideas so i thought id get some help.
my best friends little sister is turning 12. Now although i could get her normal girl stuff, shes not exactly your average girly girl. But shes not real into sports so i need nice and simple... NOT magazine subscrptions or Gift Cards please

Answer
I wish you'd given us a price range to work with.. but I'll toss out some ideas and hope you can pick out something that will work for you.

Tickets to a concert she'd like to attend would be an awesome gift if that's feasible. Or if she doesn't already have one, an MP3 player, digital camera, or cell phone would be good too. Just be sure to get her parents permission first. A Nintendo DS would be great too, but it's a little more expensive.

If she has a computer maybe she could use a cordless laser mouse or a new web cam. And I'm sure there's a certain CD or DVD she's been wanting to get.

Think about what she likes to do too. Does she read certain types of books? Would she like a certain type of computer / Play Station / XBox game? (Sorry, I don't know what system she has, if any...) Maybe a t-shirt with her favorite band on it?

Anyway, those are just some suggestions. I hope you can use them to come up with an idea that will fit her perfectly!

what are great birthday gift ideas for my soon to be 16 year old sister?

PINNKYWINN

My sister and i are really close but i have no idea what to get her for her 16th birthday anyone have any idea?

Answer
For a Sweet Sixteen, I would go with something girly, probably pink (unless she hates pink) such as a bathrobe from Aerie, Victoria's Secret/PINK, or Target. You can also do cute bedroom slippers. Bath and Body Works may have some of those items too.

It really depends on your price range...if you have a little more money, get her a bottle of perfume! Is there one she likes/has been talking about? I would suggest Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Marc Jacobs Daisy, DKNY Be Delicious, or Aquolina Pink Sugar as fun, young fragrances that are light and sweet.

Does she have a lot of jewelry? A jewelry box might be a nice gift. Check at department stores, even Pottery Barn has cute ones.

You can do a pair of simple, nice, earrings from a jewelry shop (real ones, though...not like Claire's). Or consider a charm bracelet chain with a starter charm. There is the standard link but also Pandora bracelets as well.

I hope these suggestions work, good luck!

50 things to do before i graduate high school?

hockeygirl

not to crazy like legall things and no sex or smoking! i just want fun creative things

Answer
1. start a journal, begin with making a list of things you want to do before you graduate from high school.
2. Go to a thrift store and get $10 of old videos, CDs, or books. Get something you would ordinarily not buy.
3.Go to a concert featuring someone new, someone with an interesting name.
4. Get a penpal in another country or state... I guess it would be email pal or someone on facebook etc
5. Clean out your closet and junk drawers, make a time capsule of things from your life that you want to keep, but that you can live without.
6. Do a random act of kindness each day and record it in your journal.
7. Try a new musical instrument, get private lessons if possible, or just rent one and play around with it for a month.
8. Get a how to video and try to follow the steps like how to paint a landscape in an hour, make a birdhouse, put together a flower arrangement.
9. Arrange to volunteer for a couple hours a week at various businesses or charities such as the humane society, 4-H, scouts, the family center, the hospital, local art supply store, a museum, etc.
10. Get a list of banned books and start reading all of them before you go to college. Mark them off as you go.
11. Walk, go a different direction or on a different trail each time.
12. Pretend you are a tourist. Go to all the interesting sights in your city as if you were just visiting
13. Try a new recipe.
14. Give a costume or themed party... maybe a Halloween one or plan a very interesting birthday party.
15. Give a surprise party for a friend or relative.
16. Start learning a new language.
17. Compose a song.
18. write a play, poem, or short story.
19. Read an entire page in the dictionary.
20. Start writing your own dictionary of modern slang.
21. Get a pattern and make your own prom dress, or make something for someone else.
22. Make your own gifts for the whole year... nothing purchased except supplies to make the gifts,
23. Be a kid again, reread your favorite childhood books, go to the water park, run through the sprinklers.
24. Go on a scavenger hunt with your friends.
25. Make a collage of pictures representing yourself and your interests.
26. Design your own house, start with over all floor plan, and then decorate the room, choose paint colors, carpet or flooring, furniture etc. Then landscape the yard. You can do this on computer or make a scrapbook of ideas.

27. Use a baby name book, select at least 10 possible names for your future children. Consider what the names man and what nicknames other kids might make out of them.
28. Get one of those knitting looms and make a hat and scarf set for each of your friends.
29. Get your lifeguard certification.
30. Take mini trips to visit various colleges.
31. Buy five items at a garage sale. Then do something with those items
32. Paint a picture
33. Take a picture, enlarge it to poster size.
34. Check out your local county and state fair. Enter at least one item in each fair.
35. Go through all your old pictures, make a scrapbook from childhood to graduation.
36. Take an old pair of jeans and make something out of them: purse, pieces for a jeans quilt, an apron, a skirt, shorts, etc.
37. Have a yard sale of all your old stuff, ask your parents if they want to get rid of stuff too. Invite a few of your friends over to help you. Use that money for a great party.
38. Make a giant batch of pizzelles or other Christmas cookies to give away or sell.
39. Try to start a new fad, anything from an interesting haircut to using a new ly invented slang word. See how long it takes to catch on .

Sorry, Yahoo says my answer is too long, but this should give you a start.

How to use these word in a senentence ?

victorinox

"as many as"
"as though"
"if only"
"provided that"
"so that"
What is definiton and How do i use these word in a sentence? It would be great if example included.Thanks.

Answer
Hi,
1) He asked if she knew that 'as many as' twenty people had applied to become dancers?

2) It looked 'as though' the time would never come for a decision to be made.

3) He thought to himself, 'if only' I had completed my application sooner.

4) She knew that she would succeed 'provided that' she maintained a strong sense of purpose to achieve her goals.

5) It was important to explain why she was late for class 'so that' her teacher wouldn't think that she wasn't interested in completing her assignments.

Definition. This is a word used to explain what something (Usually another word) means.

Example: Let's look at what the word 'thoughtful' means.
A friend gives you a birthday present; you had no idea that your friend would do such a thing and then you realize how 'thoughtful' she was to do this.

In that context the word 'thoughtful' would mean:
Your friend was 'caring enough' to buy you a gift.
or,
Your friend 'values' you as a friend.
or,
Your friend was 'thinking' about you.
or,
Your friend 'appreciates' having you as a friend.

Here are some more examples for the 5 questions above.

1) 'As many as' twenty thousand football fans went to see their team play.

2) It looked 'as though' it was going to rain.

3) "If only' she had called home a week ago to tell them she was coming, everything would have been different.

4) 'Provided that' the taxi arrived in the next 10 minutes, she knew that she would get to the Airport in time.

5) It was important to contact home, 'so that' they could be prepared for her visit.

Hope that helps you.

Birthday Gift Ideas For A One Year Old?

Domo

Its A Little Girl
Any Ideas?
Thanks!

Answer
At the age of 1, the party is for YOU and Grandma... Not the kid...

I'm not kidding here... You could lock the kid in a closet while all the adults get drunk to calibrate the baby's 1st birthday and then jingle some keys in front of her the next day and there will be absolutely no difference between that and if you spent a million dollars on clowns and toys and a cake the size of your home.

Put the money you want to spend on a party and toys into a savings account for her...

Until the age of about 3, nothing you do that is Positive will really accomplish anything. The ONLY real things that have an impact on a child before the age of 5 are negative things...

So focus on not hitting the kid, not being intoxicated in front of the kid, getting any mental illness treated and under control, make sure that she has a HEALTHY AND STABLE family of origin so that in these prime developmental years, her brain biology develops in a healthy way...

Having a perfectly healthy family results in a "Normal Adult" but even the slightest bit of abuse/trauma/chaos in the family of origin damages the brain and even even alters her genetic development and increase the risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, addiction, etc.

Give your child the best birthday present you can give her and work on making yourself and your husband HEALTHY PEOPLE that won't screw her up and damage her mentally and physically.

(I don't know you... I'm just playing the statistical odds that you have issues that need to be worked on.)

^They demonstrate the impact of damaged parents on otherwise healthy offspring by taking a "Depressed Mouse" and a "Healthy Mouse" and swap their babies out so that the "Genetically Heatlhy" mice were raised by the "Depressed Mother" and the babies with the genetics for depression were raised by the "Healthy Mother" and the HEALTHY babies raised by the depressed mother ended up unhealthy, fat, depressed, and it even changed their fur color... While the babies with the genetics for depression grew up to be healthy and happy mice.

This has been shown to be the case with humans, too, since 2005 when they released this documentary.

ALL that matters is what YOU and the father do to stay healthy because THAT will impact your child more than anything you can 'Buy' for her.

Mom's 50th Birthday!! Gift Ideas?

youreariot

Mom is turning the big 5-0. My father, my brother, and I are throwing her a surprise party and flying out her friends from back home (we moved awhile ago) and we know that "being thogether is the best gift" but seriously... we want to buy her something.

She doesn't like any spa things, clothes, or jewelry since that's always what everyone gets her, thus asking you guys... We're putting together a basket of good gifts and gag ones. We've already got custom m&ms, a custom wine glass, and a slap-chop (inside joke).

Be creative and thank you!!

It really just depends what they are into. Here are a few ideas that my 5 yr. old niece has liked:
1. big arts/crafts sets (like make your own jewelry, stepping stone, painting, etc.)
2. outside toys if it's warm where they live- balls, jumpropes, tennis raquets, etc.
3. model kits for the boy if he likes building (cars, dinosaurs, radios, etc.)
4. crystal growing kits
5. educational video games like Leap Frog's Leapster (those are huge hits but pricier!)
6. bikes
7. train set for the boy (Thomas the Train is huge)
8. kids table w/chairs for them to sit at
9. kids little sofa/chairs that fold out for sitting & playing
10. a big kids kitchen set w/pretend kitchen
11. a large dollhouse
12. electronic reading systems like Tag/Leap Frog
13. Fisher Price's Cool School computer
14. computer games

this is a small list but hopefully it will spark some ideas for you! not sure about the balloon delivery- maybe try a local flower shop?

Unique Birthday Gift for 5 year old girl?

LeeAnn

My step-daughter is turning 5 in a week, and I was wondering if any of you have any unique gift ideas. She got a lot for Christmas, so I used most of my brain-power for it, and now I'm completely out of ideas for her birthday! Thank you :-)

Answer
Best thing for a 5-yr-old girl is to get her something for a tea party!
Either a build-a-bear kit as one of the invitees, or a tiara or a fancy dress-up dress or an easy bake oven.

Then make it unique! Make the cookies with her!! Help her make finger-painted placemats and help her wrap silverware in napkins. Help her make "tea sandwiches" with the crusts off and triangular.

Make a chef's/baker's hat and put a towel over your arm as her butler/maitre d'.

Take pictures or movies and make a scrapbook page for her.

Birthday gift ideas for girl I'm dating?

GunningGoo

I'm a sophomore in college and I've been dating this girl for almost 2 months. But for half that time, she was away for winter break. When she came back for school, I got her a Hello Kitty snuggie with a card for Christmas that she absolutely loved.

Her birthday is next week and I don't know what to get her! We aren't exclusive yet but we're really into each other. We've talked about making it official but we just aren't ready yet. What would be a simple yet nice gift for her that wouldn't break a budget? I'm hoping $20 or less? How about a stuffed animal? I'm also already planning a surprise dinner for her next weekend.

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hmmm... How about a charm bracelet!!! Here's a better one!! Get her a GIANT stuffed bear that's holding a mini box of chocolates, a homemade card!! Oh and the bears can say, I love you BEARY much!!! Lol I know I'm cheesy but what doesn't like that, especially the chocolate!! Jk. If you give her the homemade card, she knows that you spent time on her and you didnt buy a last minute gift. Girls really want something that comes from the heart so good luck!!

Idk how much this costs!! But your probably gonna have to spend more than $20.. Sorry!!

Gift ideas for 18th birthday: twins (boy and girl)?

Deb F

They're my neice and nephew... and heading for college soon. I am tired of giving gift certificates, and would like something meaningful for this landmark birthday. They've been a bit spoiled, and have most everything you can ask for...(currently they're on vacation in the Caribbean!) Any ideas? 18-year-olds... what would be meaningful for you?

Answer
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you, they and family and friends would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

My wife is turning 40. Any good birthday gift ideas?

cobblejoe

Answer
Ooh! I just had my 40th, and my partner gave me 40 days of presents up to my birthday. Everynight I got a new gift. They weren't all material things. Some were things like 20 minutes of just smooches, a foot rub, a framed photo from when we first dated, renting the first movie we saw tother, etc. They don't have to cost money or require a lot of work.

It gave me something to look forward to for over a month.

Of course, his 40th is next year so I guess I'd better start planning!

Birthday ideas for my dad?

Little Mis

My dad is turning 52 in 28 days. I have no idea what to get him! I was thinking of an ipod nano with the arm band for when he's gardening or something, but I don't think he would use it that much.

Also, what should I do on his birthday? I'm thinking of hiring a private room in a restaurant for close family and friends for a nice lunch...

Any ideas you may have would be very helpful!

Answer
A family get together would be a great idea to celebrate his birthday. As for a gift give him something personal that is unique to his interests or hobbies. What does he like to do? How does he spend his "ME" time. Viewing sports, reading, fishing, golfing,
puzzles etc. I'm certain you've had a few hints in his time. He won't feel comfortable telling you or asking for something. It's a Dad thing. Give it some thought, you'll do fine.

Teenager birthday gift?

My son turns 17 on Sunday. Need help thinking of a gift. He likes to go out to eat with friends, so we will probably get him a gift card to a restaurant. He does not drive yet. He already has wayyyy to many clothes. He does like to play XBox Live (the game where you're shooting at zombies). Would a video game chair/rocker be a good idea? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Answer
It is always better to be guided by what the person likes when choosing a gift for him or her. As you point out, something in the line of video games that he likes would do. But you can shop around for other ideas too.

1) Zombie apocalypse? You could have people do their make-up like the undead, hand out little gift bags of "survival gear", and have brain cookies.
2) TV-show related, like How I Met You Mother or The Big Bang Theory, or even a karaoke party in the theme of American Idol or the Voice.

male 16th birthday party ideas?

I'm turning 16ing in a month and I dont know what I should do. Im a guy, and have a winter birthday so I need some ideas. I dont want a big party but I want to do something fun, please help. Thanks

Answer
You should throw a birthday party that is fun and memorable. Just keep it as uncomplicated as possible. You should have a themed outback party. All you need to do enough food and drinks for everyone and a great selection of music that everyone would want to dance to. You can have it in your backyard, a local park, or in an open space you can rent (if you have the money). Make sure you let your family and friends know the type of gifts you want now so they will have enough time to buy them. Here are some gift ideas specifically 16yr olds that you would want to ask for http://www.giftgrease.com/sweet_sixteen.html is you don't find anything you like there then here are more http://www.giftgrease.com/birthday-gift-ideas.html Oh yeah there is also Ribbon e-cards that make great gifts because it gives you the chance to actually choose your own gift. And there are alot of name brand items to choose from. Here are the different cards http://www.giftgrease.com/ribbon-e-gift-cards.html These are just some ideas.Yeah, birthdays are not all about gifts, but it would not hurt to get some on your birthday. Hope this helps

1 year old baby boy birthday present?

Shauni

My friends son is turning 1 soon! I can not go overboard on the gift, but I would like to actually get him something useful/nice! But i honestly have no clue what to get him!

What would you recommend?
If you get a Saving's Bond for someone, what information do you need?

And, would the parents be able to cash it?
(Not that I do not trust my friend, just if I did this I would want to make sure HE got it!)

And does the child have to be at least 18 to cash it??

Answer
If you decide not to go for the saving's bond, I have another cute idea: for boys, I especially like the idea of a birthday train. This is a table decoration to get out every birthday. Each year you can add another wagon / candle to your train. We have a zoo parade like this and my kids always love to have this on the table for their birthdays. You can look at it here: http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/1st-birthday-gift.html

Good luck!

Answer
when my daughter turned 1 we gave her the fisher price little people house. this i would say is her favourite toy ever. she didn't really get a lot out of it until closer to 2 but she's 4 now and still plays with it every day. there's a barn version for the boys. it was $50 if you don't want to spend this much there's other smaller little people stuff. i recommend them

Birthday Party Gift Bag Ideas?

pumpkinsmo

My daughter is having a bowling party for her 11th birthday. The guests will be boys and girls and will range in ages from 6 to 14. Any ideas for "affordable" gift bags?

Answer
Because the ages range so much (6-14) then i would just keep it simple so everyone gets the same gift bag, otherwise you would have to really spend some money to hit every ones age interests. I would just put in some candy, gum, balloons, chap stick, pencils and maybe go to McDonald's and pick up a few gift books to put $5 or so in every ones bag, or talk to the bowling alley about gift books. As i said it really depends what you want to spend if you want to seperate the boy bags from the girls buy differnt color bags and for the girls keep with all of the above but add in hair ties, lip gloss, costume jewelery, combs, scents. For boys there not much besides temp tatooes or sports game cards.

playmattbi

I'm turning twelve in two weeks and I need an idea for a gift. I already have a phone, laptop, ipod, wii, and a dsi. Got any ideas?

Answer
For your birthday you don't really need to spend much to have a great time. Try to have it in a skating rink or golf course. You could also have it in an arcade if you and your friends like to play games. Just be sure you have enough snacks and drinks for everyone. Start telling your friends and family the type of gifts you want now so they can buy them in time. If you need gift ideas you should check out this page. It has gifts specifically for teens http://www.giftgrease.com/teengifts.html You could also ask for a Ribbon e-gift card. It is a new type of gift that allows you to actually pick the gift you want online and it will be shipped to you for free.. It has alot brand-named merchandise that you will like. Here are the different types of cards you can ask for. http://www.giftgrease.com/ribbon-e-gift-cards.html I know birthdays are not all about gifts but it really makes things alot more memorable. Hope this helps.
