a gift idea for my wifes birthday?

Michael

we've been married for 9 years. She's going to be 30, and i'm 34. She is an amazing woman. She has lupus and a bone disease. a very sick individual. but still as beautiful as the day i met her. To me she only gets prettier with age. on to the question; her birthday is about 6 days away. she is away until then for medical reasons, and i want some good ideas for what to get her, or do for her. a ladies perspective might be preferred, but any will do.
she LOVES cosmetics, okay she's a makeup FREAK. she's knows her stuff, and is very gifted. it's like an art. anyone can put makeup on, but when you're good at it, it's different. We have an ULTA kinda nearby, but i wouldn't know what to get her.... anyone that knows cosmetics, knows that it's freakin complicated/ so much variety. i was thinking a gift card from there, so she'd have to spend it there. she doesn't like to spend money on herself, and it always doing for others/ and our family. she's just that way.
the reason i'm on here, is hoping i could get some good ideas maybe. i can't spend a lot of money, because #1 she'd kill me #2 we're on a limited budget because of her health reasons and others.
she's the type that would give to and help anyone without thinking twice. she's an amazing woman, very strong, very beautiful, and she deserves something nice. I'm always cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children, etc. so don't include that stuff. i'd appreciate any ideas if anyone has any. i just want her bday to be very special. thx again for any suggestions

You only have a short time to get this together but with help you could pull it off. Get her the gift card for a place she likes to get make up. Make 30 cup cakes follow link. or Make a cake with a make up theme. (get help if needed) If there is anything she wanted done that you have been putting off do it or give a coupon to have it done in x amount of time from the time it is submitted. Invite others to celebrate ask everyone to bring a dish and bring their makeup for a makeup birthday party. Even the guys. Make it fun. They can be whatever. Use decorations to make makeup props you can purchase from the dollar store. Make her a CD of songs that she *likes* and the two of you shared together over the years. Collect pictures of her growing up and of major moments and of the two of you together with kids as they came along. Put it into a DVD or album or picture screen. Tell her how much she means to you like you have done to us.

edit *likes*
edit 2: If there are a lot of people do the 30 cup cakes around another cake. Guys could be like Kiss, Alice Cooper etc. Make it fun for everyone.

Birthday ideas for my wife for her 30th birthday?

James L

I want to make my wifes 30th birthday very special. I'm blanking on ideas though. I have until October to figure it out. Any awesome ideas?
We just recently had our one year anniversary and we did a day at the Spa for couples so that is out. Great idea but just did it. Looking for an idea that will make her think back 25 years from now and go "That was Epic....it was the stuff of legends!" She deserves it!

WOW! With a thoughtful husband like you I am sure that her birthday will be spectacular no matter where you end up......

I am turning 30 next summer, so from personal oppinion here are the top five ideas......#4 and #5 are my ultimate favorites because they are a little more unique!

1.) Tickets to a great band that you might not usually splurge on.
2.) A weekend away together, doesnt have to be expensive a road trip to a bed and breakfast or nearby city would be just fine.
3.) A surprise party with friends and family waiting at her favorite restaurant.
4.) A "lock-in" just the two of you in your home, Have one of her friends get her out of the house for a few hours so that you can stock it with bubble baths candles and fluffy towels in bathroom, get her favorite snacks, have ingredients to cook her favorite meals, rent her favorite movies, buy silly board games, things like that so the two of you can shut off phones and lock doors, dim the lights and have your own private cave for the weekend.
5.) "A Wine Cellar Party", buy her a wine cooler for your house as a birthday gift, then invite all your friends over for a party and have them each bring a bottle of wine to help fill her new wine cooler. (Good yet reasonably priced coolers can be found lots of places these days like Target, Bed Bath and Beyond or even Lowes Hardware)
