he's turning 27 this sunday he is quite fussy about things & loves expensive things too lol plus in 2 months time he's going become a daddy for the first time too.
i was thinking to give him baby things e.g baby shoes, baby clothes, bottles, bibs, soft toys.
how does that sound?
or should i give him something else??

Try to buy him something that may be related to his being a daddy for the first time but not in the form of baby apparel. I'm sure a shower will be held for your sister-in-law and of course the baby gifts that will follow once they become parents.
You don't say whether or not you can afford an expensive gift. Just because this is something he loves, as I'm sure we all do, doesn't mean you can't get him something on the less expensive side but that will have much more meaning. Something engraved with #1 Daddy on it, or a small silver piggy bank that you can put the first "deposit" into. Make it something that he will keep and treasure for the rest of his life and that he can then pass on to the son or daughter to be expected.
Baby clothing and other assorted items can be bought at a later time. For now, remind him how happy you are for him and how you are looking forward to having a niece/nephew.
