Last minute gift ideas!?

Four days until Christmas and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. Crazy, I know! The malls are going to be abosolutely packed.

I need some ideas for my Mom and my Dad, and also for my brother who is 23 years old. I don't have a huge amount of money. And my parents are cheap and wouldn't want me spendings lots of money on them anyways. I have NO idea what to get them.

Any cheap, cute ideas? My family likes music.. and uh, my dad likes to read. That's all I've got..

If you don't have much money and want something thoughtful how about giving a promise - just pop a note in a card promising to do something for them -ie to wash the car, to take them to a movie, to do a grotty job you know they hate having to do - my brother did this as a wedding present for me which was a fab idea - (not for him maybe as he ended up decorating for me)...!
If your family likes music & have ipods try an ipod gift voucher, again a great idea as they can browse online and purchase at their leisure.
One think I can highly recommend for next year is to shop on-line, you can start as early as you like and buy gifts through out the year and save them up for birthdays and christmas - I hate having to fight the crowds at the shops and have done this for the past couple of years - it really works!

Last minute birthday gift?

I am going to my friends house later today and haven't got anything for him yet. Is there anything that I can make or buy that would be ggod. He is in sixth grade and is into skate boarding, but has his own skateboard. Any ideas?

Maybe a skateboarding video game. Or a really cool helmet.
But if you don't think he would like those why not just get him a gift card for a sports store or something like that, so that he can pick what he really wants.

What are some last minute gift ideas for your mother's birthday?

She is going to be 36 years old! She does so much for her family and her birthday is one day that we get to spoil her! So if you can think of some great gifts it is greatly appreciated. And because life gets so busy I forgot to buy her a present and her birthday is tomorrow 10/06/06!!!!! Shame Shame : ( on me.....

Why don't you just make the time to spend with her....take her out for dinner, lunch, breakfast or cook dinner for her. Mom's are sentimental and want to know that their children love them enough to give them their "time" because if it hadn't been for the time your mother spent on you, you probably wouldn't be the person you are today....so give her your time and let her know how special she really is...and next year, put a little more creativity into it because she is worth it...I always do something special for my mother on Mother's Day and her birthday, and it doesn't usually cost alot, but always comes from the heart. I have been known to write poetry, make a collage of pictures of her children with her, cook her favorite meal, throw a surprise party with family and friends. I started something and now my own children do the same for me.....From a mom's perspective, there is nothing more special than your children's time.

I have to purchase a last minute gift for a physicians birthday. Is gift certificates to a resturaunt ok?

I thought about a $40 dollar gift certificate to somewhere like Ruby Tuesdays or perhaps Red Lobster.
He is from Egypt. Any one out there from Egyptian culture with any ideas?

A restaurant gift certificate is a great idea for a physician who doesn't have much time to cook. However, there are a lot of great local restaurants in town. I would go with one of those (perhaps from the Gaslamp District) instead of a chain.
