Birthday gift for 8-year-old girl?

Saggyrl

Help!! As a mom to two young boys, I am clueless when it comes to getting gifts for little girls! lol (Yes, I was a girl once but I was a tomboy and have no idea what's "cool" now for girls). :)
My older son (age 4) was just invited to our neighbor's daughter's birthday party- I believe she is turning 8 or 9 years old. What are girls this age into? She doesn't seem to be a super-pink-princess type girl either, if you know what I mean... so what would be a good, creative gift?
Thanks!

Answer
If she's not much into pink and sparkly things then probably something to do with High School musical or Hannah Montana. All the little girl's in my son's class (he's just turned 9) are into those, so that's what we buy when he's invited to their parties and it always seems to be a hit.

What are some gift ideas for an 8 year old boy?

Zoe

My brother just turned 8 a week ago, and I'm totally stumped on what to get him for Christmas. All he wants is pokemon cards and mini sticks, but he has a load of both and I already bought him pokemon cards for his birthday.

He spends a lot of time on the computer, wii, or watching TV. I know he would like getting a computer game, movie or wii game, but I don't really want to get that because when I was his age TV was a treat, and I want him to have fun with his imagination before he grows out of it.

Any ideas? He especially likes pokemon, and hockey. He already went through his hot wheels, spider man, and transformers stages, so those aren't really options...

Thank you!

Answer
I think he would like a Nerf gun they are realllly good fun my 7 year old has a few different ones and me and my hubby join in the fun with him its good :o)
Also the prices range from under £10 right up to nearly £100 so you can get one to suit your price range good luck and Merry Christmas :o)

Birthday gift ideas for 2 year old and 8 year old?

Vasara

My daughter will be 2 and my son will be 8 (golden birthday) next week. We dont have any idea what to get them as they seem to have everything already!

Daughter has: Little tykes car, wagon, sand box, tricycle, pic nic table, slide for outside toys. Dolls, baby beds and strollers, educational toys, magna doodle, rocking horse, shopping cart, cash register, tons of books, "little people" house, farm, bus, car.

Son has: bike, skate board, pogo stick, roller blades, super soakers, trampoline, PSP, PS3, Star Wars ships and action figures, legos, Playmobile, tons of books.

You get the idea. As their mother, I will admit, they are spoiled when it comes to toys, they do not go without.

But we have to get them something for their birthdays. We like to get outside toys for them because they have birthdays in May and have the whole summer to play outside with them.

Any ideas? Price limit is about 250$ for each of them.

Answer
maybe you can combine their 250 and buy them a really sturdy swing set with playhouse. or maybe a basketball set for your boy & a lifesize doll for your girl.

Other Christmas present ideas for family?

pupluver97

Luckily I know what I am getting for my grandmother for Christmas (a tie blanket that i made), but the others are tough. My first sister, brother, mom, and best friend are the hardest.

My sister is graduating from college in like a week so I need help with that too. For her, I was thinking that I would buy a sweet sister photo frame that I found on Amazon and put a picture of us two in it and give it to her. I don't know if that should be her graduation present or Christmas present but either way I need to buy it soon for it to get here in time. For her birthday a couple months ago, I made her a card and wrote a letter that made her cry (she is really emotional). I want he to know how much I care about her, but I don’t want to make her cry again. I want ALL of my Christmas presents to be meaningful, and I am willing to spend some money but I am only a 15 year old girl and don’t have a ton. My sister is 23 and she means to world to me.

My other sister is older and is married with a two year old girl and four year old boy (I love those kids sooooo much!) but I am not sure if I will buy her anything for reasons I would rather not post. I love her, but I don't know if I can find a real meaningful gift for her because of some stupid and selfish things she has done, but if you have any ideas, please be my guest! (NO GIFTCARDS WHAT-SO-EVER!)

I know what my parents are getting me for Christmas (oops) and i kind of feel bad about it. I really want it, but I don’t know what to give back. I am the youngest, so i hate to admit it but i am kind of spoiled. I feel like my parents spend more than is necessary on me and i really want to show my appreciation to them My mom loves aggot hunting and rocks and fossils and all of that stuff. (We want to go to Madagascar one day lol) My mom says that she wants a rock cutter or polisher or tumbler or something but they are expensive so I might be able to split it with my sister but she is pretty poor with her boyfriend since they are only just graduating from college, and my mom may have already bought herself a rock tumbler or is planning to from the Christmas money she already got. I don’t know but i want to find something meaningful and although that is something I know she really wants, it is not something I would usually buy especialy since I have virtually no way of getting it without her knowing unless I found the perfect thing and managed to get my sister’s help.

My dad, his birthday is only in a little over a week so i am stuck. I might just make him a cake since he thinks everyone will forget about his birthday since it is sooo close to my sister’s graduation, but for Christmas, I don’t know. I love my dad but we have an odd, unbalanced relationship sort of like with my other sister. Maybe I will just give him a card with a meaningful saying or something. My dad rarely shows real emotion because of the way he grew up, but I wish I could make him. I feel that I owe my daddy in a way.

My brother is probably the toughest of all. He is 21, loves hunting and hanging out with friends. I really can’t think of anything meaningful for his Christmas present.. He will be in Germany with one of friends for Christmas this year, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to get him anything. I wish that i had a better relationship with my brother and could spend more time with him, but he is never around. I would love to go skiing with him or something this winter, but I don’t know if we will get the chance. He wais we could go last year but never did. We went togeather when I was in 7th and 8th grade with school and that was really the last time I got to spend a lot of time with him. His stuff lives at home, but he lives with his friends closer to his school. I am usually home alone with my parents since all of my siblings have pretty much moved out. He is one of those guys that has a lot of energy but, thankfully, is using it in a productive way by shooting deer and become a cop to help society's fight against crime. I want my brother to know how much I do love him and miss him. I get a hug from him every chance that i get, but it just does not feel like enough. My brother is crazy, but I love him and miss him, and just want a present that will show it in one way or another.

Last but not least, my best friend. Because of drama in our school, we have become better friends than ever this year. Maybe I should just give her a gift card (she is the only exception) but I don’t know if that would even be good enough. It feels incomplete on my part. I don’t know. For reasons unspoken, she is tough to buy for. I do want to give her something meaningful, but I really don’t know what.

I am sorry that this is so long, but I really want this to be a special Christmas.

For your dad... Make him a batch of fudge and add a letter from you about how you feel about him. You can even say how you both are so different, yet you love him so deeply and you are glad he is your dad.

Fantasy Fudge
Yes, this is the original Fantasy Fudge recipe from the back of the Kraft Marshmallow Creme jar. We'll never know why they changed the recipe on us, but we've preserved the recipe for you right here.

3 cups sugar
3/4 cup margarine
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 12-oz. (340 g) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 7-oz. (198 g) jar Kraft Marshmallow creme
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Traditional method:
Combine sugar, margarine and milk in heavy 2-1/2 quart saucepan; bring to full rolling bail, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring. Remove from heat, stir in chocolate till melted. Add marshmallow creme, nuts & vanilla; beat until blended. Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Let cool and cut into 1-inch squares.

Microwave method:
Microwave margarine in 4-quart microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) 1 minute or until melted. Add sugar and milk; mix well. Microwave on HIGH 5 minutes or until mixture begins to boil, stirring after 3 minutes. Mix well; scrape bowl. Continue microwaving on HIGH 5-1/2 minutes; stir after 3 minutes. Stir in chips until melted. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares. Makes 3 pounds.

Note: Can be made in a smaller pan for thicker squares (yield will be reduced).

Servings: 117

< Fudge would be a good gift for your sister and her kids also. >

I love donating gifts during the holidays and this year I need to pick a gift for a 12 year old boy and 8-11 year old girl. Any suggestions? They indicated that it had to be at least 10 dollars.

Answer
skip the legos for the 12 year old unless it's a special kit like star wars or something (kids these days are too into electonics these days though)

here are some ideas:

GIRL:

I have 3 daughters ages 9,7,and 6.

they ALL love to make crafts of any kind. you could put together a craft set by gathering various items at your local dollar store (dollar tree has awesome craft stuff), walmart, or michaels craft store (they have a dollar section too). find things like feathers, pom poms (colored cotton balls), glitter, sheets of foam, felt, ribbon, beads (and plastic string to make bracelets with),etc. I did this for a little girl for her birthday and it was her favorite gift!!

or you can do these too:

How do you grow taller?
Q. I know this is out of my control, but there must be a couple of tips on growing taller. Like exercises, diet, suplements, anything. I'm 5'4, 15 years old, and will be moving to the States in two months, so I don't think I need to stress on how important this is to me. Please let me know if you've got any ideas. Thanks!

P.S: I'd probably be a sophomore.

A. Tips from a Doctor with copy-right: -

Let me gift you an Indicator:
In average, a boy of 15.5-year old is as tall as his father. This indicates wither your living habit is good or not in average. If you are the same or taller than your father on or before your 15.5th birthday, you have a better chance to be taller in mature, because your average habit is good. But if you are shorter than your father on or after this date, your mature height shall be short, because your average habit is bad. If you want to be taller, you have to improve your habit and remove all grow tall obstacle seriously.

Projection:
For males of your age, the average time-limit to grow tall is about 0-month of very quick (0-6 inches per year); 12-month of quick (0-3 inches per year); 18-month of slow (0-1 inch per annum); and 30-month of insignificant (0-0.5”/year) rate. The rate for children in temp and hot zone is about two third of the above only! If you are early bird with voice changed, long adult hairs or big penis before your 14th-birthday, you will stop growing earlier!

The average range of genetic adult-height of 15-year-6-month old, 5'4" boy, is about 5'4" to 5'9". If you do not change living habit, your adult height shall be about 166.6cm or 5'5.59", according to your growth curve. Your adult height is expected much shorter than your maximum genetic height. This indicates that you have bad habits or serious grow-tall obstacles. If you want to be taller, they have to be check out and removed, preferably with the help of a grow-tall doctor. For detail, visit↓source.

Part of the extracts from http://www.tall.la with copyright granted to me, is good for you to accelerate and restart growth spurt:
Common mistakes retarding or stopping you from growing fast:
1. Afraid of fat so eat less, or even lose weight http://www.dr-thin.com
2. Do little exercise or too much unsuitable exercise such as lift weight, push up and sit up.
3.Sleep less than 8 hours daily.
4.Eat too much Junk food and sugar which make your saliva and blood acidic that etch mineral from your teeth and bone.
5.Drink too little water.
6.Do not eat enough vegetable and fruit. The total size of 3-4 times your fist daily is recommended.
7.Do not eat fish. At least one fist size of fish meat, preferably steamed, per week is needed.
8.Drunken, Smoking, or taking drugs.
9.Many others, as shown in http://www.tall.la
10.Temporary, you can wear high heel shoes, or buy insoles of 5 cm and lay them in your shoes.

GOOD EXERCISE
New born bone cells are soft as meat before absorbing sufficient mineral. So your bone cannot elongate but press to grow horizontal without space in joints. The joint space can be widening by stretching, jumping and swimming exercises. This is why persons without doing enough good exercise are usually short, wide or fat.

BAD EXERCISE that reduce your joint space are lift weighting, water skiing, rolling boat and etc. Muscle strengthening exercise such as push up, sit up and loading will also reduce grow tall. As you want to grow vertical. Exercise mainly with horizontal movement is not suitable for you. These are running, football, and bicycling.

Main points from the Source↓are excellent for you. They cannot be translated here because the granted copyright limits me to do so:

To increase natural HGH: 體型特高之初產婦胎盤增高中藥,天然生長荷爾蒙HGH跟人相同,∴副作用少,但Human Growth Hormone易受胃酸破壞,某名中醫造成進腸幾分鐘才溶解,避開胃酸破壞,提升增高功效!

Your time remaining to grow tall is short. To breakthrough in time, you have to consult a grow-tall doctor. → Scan the epiphyseal line closure of your growth plates. Calculate your bone-age. → Determine how much chance you left for natural grow, and chance to boost-tall → Check out and remove your grow-tall obstacles → Boost-tall according to your body condition. Do not hesitate to email me if you need more information.

What do I give an 8 or 9 year old boy for his birthday?
Q. It is his birthday, and we do not know what to do. He likes his nintendo ds, reading, soccer, hockey, and sport in general. a gift certificate or money in general is no0t good because it is too origional.

A. You could get him a game for Nintendo DS (be aware of what games he owns and try to find a game that he might like based on what he has), a good book geared towards his age group, a sports jersey or other memorabilia, etc. If you are his parents, I hope you know what he likes in each of those categories. If you are of other relation, ask the parents for ideas.

What should I get my boyfriends 8 year old twin cousins for their birthday?
Q. My boyfriend's twin cousins, Abby and Ben's birthday is coming up in two weeks, and I'm invited to there birthday party.
What should I buy them?
I'm still trying to make a good impression on his family so I'd like it to be a nice gift. But I need ideas.
Thanks!

A. See what they like! I'm assuming Abby is a girl, and Ben is a boy, so like..if Ben likes soccer or something, get him a new soccer ball.
If Abby is into..piano..get her a music book with songs she can learn to play.

But of course, those were just examples. See what they like!
