sean l

well im turning 17 soon (under a week) and i have to come up with some gift ideas for my family, and i cant think of anything. i have a macbook, printer, ipod touch (and no im not spoilled i paid for most of these) lg dare, xbox, 6 games, 2 controllers, tv, psp.v well i have a lot of electronics! and i really dont like getting gift cards or games, but thats my last option. and im sorta into outdoor stuff too, but can you guys throw some ideas at me please!

Answer
ask for a vollyball net to set up in your back yard. its great for parties. or if you like camping or hiking ask for a tent or new hiking boots or something. If your room is getting boring ask for wall decorations or even a day from siblings to help you paint! If you play any sports you can ask for some equiptment. you can ask for beauty supplies..of wait idk if your a girl or not. well if your a boy then you probobly shouldnt ask for beauty supplies haha. a new bike is a good idea. a car? or money for a car? i pod speakers/ipod home. running log if you run. a new outfit. a book. movie money. a vacation from your parents and see if you can ask a friend. or even money for a vacation and go only with your friend. new shoes. sunglasses. a bathing suit. surfboard. i hope at least one of these helped! please pick me for best answer if you liked this.

Birthday ideas for a 6 year old boy?

Chanel

So my little brother is turning 6 in less than 2 weeks, and I need ideas on a birthday party for him. This year both my parents and I have been busy to we had no time to book anything.
Any ideas??
I remember him soo loving Spider Man. I know for a fact he loves any Marvel hero. Like Hulk or Superman. Something like that or Transformers. He's got a thing for that too.
Andd the last thing I can think of is Wrestlers, like WWE things.
I think I might just go with bounce houses.
But he's had that before.
I want to spice it up a big, something that'll have the kids talking about it when he goes back to school, you know?
I was also thinking about putting one of those velcro walls?
I don't know. Any ideas of how to spice up bounce houses??(:
Please and thank you(:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and thank you to everyone that's helped!(:
bit* not big, my bad.

Answer
Cup cake party!!! Offer plain cupcakes for the kids to frost themselves and have the birthday boy choose his favorite! Pass the parcel was big in my family; Wrap a small gift (a dollar store jump rope, kite or the like in layers and layers of newspaper with a small candy in each layer. Pass it around to music stopping at the strategically planned spot of each kid and they unwrap one layer, the last one gets the prize. Balloon pop was fun too but not if you have small kids as it can be loud! Again the dollar store! get a bag of army men, some cool small toys, squirt guns, super bouncy balls, you know little boy stuff. Number a few brown paper bags according to the amount of stuff you have and open all the packages dump the toys in. blow up 1/2 your balloons balloons and in the other 1/2 of them, before you blow them up insert a number corresponding to the bag numbers. one of two things can happen - dump all the balloons out and let them go at it popping them all at once or one at a time let them pick a balloon from the lot and pop it to see if there is a number. they get to have a blast sitting on and popping balloons and having the extra bonus of picking a "mystery prize" Movie mania is cool too - have a few friends over let them rent their fave movies, top their own pizza (use the pop n fresh dough) decorate their own cupcakes and let em eat watch and sleep as they wish! Have fun! Good Luck!

Gift ideas for a sick 6 year old girls birthday?

Q. She can't throw a party or anything. She doesn't have many friends (She can't attend school). She has Chemo the day of her actual birthday, so we can't do much on that day. But we're going to do something small with close family and friends on the saturday at home because she'll probably be really tired after chemo.
But for gifts...I'm so stuck. People are forever buying her gifts and she's really not a materialistic girl. I was going to get her a princess dress and a few other things, but I don't know what else
I heard animals are therapeutic? Maybe a dog for her and the other kids too I guess.

She's my daughter.....So a dog would be ok. But she's so awkward to buy for because she's in to either everything or nothing.

Answer
A princess dress sounds nice. I understand she isn't materialistic, but do you have any idea what she likes? Some of my ideas are arts and craft supplies, activity books, short novels like Geronimo Stilton or Magic Tree House.

Please help with any ideas for a michael jordan/basketball birthday party for 6 year old.?

Q. the party will be for children and adult both. all ages...2.tweens..teens..and adults. basketball, jordan theme. need help with..activities, prizes, gifts etc. it will be a bbq party style in late july. please help with any ideas you may have. I live in a rural area..so renting any gyms etc..is out.

Answer
I would decorate in the colors of the bulls, black and red and add some white, balloons, streamers, etc. you can do that in clusters, etc. You can also get some posters and I'm sure a stand up of Michael Jordan and put that up in the party area. The stand up is that cardboard cut out, if the b'day boy doesn't have one already, you can do a search online just put in "michael jordan cardboard stand up" and use if for the party and make that part of his gift after the party, I'm sure being he's a big fan, he'll LOVE it!

For games, you can do hot potato, but with a little basketball, and make it like "hot basketball", play it the same way as hot potato, but with a mini basketball. You can go anywhere and get a ball that's a basketball, but smaller. I just saw one this past week in Walgreens in the toy section. So you can get the basketball and use that.

You can also do pass the mini basketball with your chin. The kids sit in a circle and put the ball under their chin and their hands either behind their backs or at their side and they have to pass the ball to each other around the circle with only their chin, whoever drops it is out and whoever is left standing wins. That game usually gets LOTS of laughs and I know my teen niece and her friends wanted to keep playing it over and over. LOL

You can also do pin the basketball in Michael Jordan's hands. Maybe get a poster of MJ and cut out some basketballs and blindfold the kids and instead of the traditional pin the tail on the donkey, you can have them get the ball in Mike's hand. The one who comes closest or gets it in wins. OR you can do, get the ball in the basket, same thing, only you hang a picture of MJ and a basket and they have to get the ball IN the basket and the one that comes closest wins.

You can do regular relay races, potato sack races, water balloon fights, three legged races, wheelbarrel where they hold the other person's ankles and race to the finish line. You can also do the egg on the spoon race. Go outside, give them a raw egg on a spoon and whoever gets to the finish line first without breaking the egg wins. etc.

For prizes, being you have different ages, I'm not sure if you have boys and girls, or just boys but you can do a few things:

matchbox cars
lipgloss/nail polish, etc
Candy, those huge lollipops
a real basketball
a whiffle ball and bat
frisbee

Go to the dollar store, you can get a lot there that the kids will love. You don't have to go broke giving out the prizes. Go up and down some of the aisles and get a few things you know they'll like.

You can also set up an ice cream bar for the kids. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings. Sprinkles, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, cherries, etc. At the dollar store they have the tall plastic sundae glasses, get them and let the kids make their own sundaes.

I hope these ideas help and that you have a GREAT party!

What are some different (atypical) ideas rather than the same old stuff for V-day? My birthday, my girlfriend's birthday and Valentines day, plus the date we met all lie with in the same week or so in February. What are some ideas to celebrate? Gift ideas other than the norm? This year will be our 6th anniversary.

What to get my son for xmas/birthday, he will be 6yrs old. (we live far apart)?

Jessica

(I am using my friends account)

I have ask his mother what he wants for his bday/xmas, she tells me a flat screen tv, the new playstation and a laptop! He turns 6 at the end of december!! I don't mind spending money, but I think he is a bit to young for that, and I feel they(mother and step dad) will use that stuff and not my son. The mother won't let my son and I talk a lot, so I can't even ask him.

What are some great ideas for 6 year old boys xmas/bday presents!?

Answer
How about a board game like connect 4 and a larger toy like a remote controlled full function car. Or you could get a Nintendo DS lite and a game or LeapFrog LeapPad1 Explorer Learning Tablet.

I would buy the gifts online and have them sent directly to your son, you should be able to track the package that way and make sure that they arrived.

I hope this helps and good luck!

We are having a baby and have a 6 year old son already (my step-son). We are having a baby shower for the soon to be and I wanted to get him something special so he doesn't feel left out with all the baby gifts and talk of the baby. What are some ideas that we could get him that would make him feel special and not left out?

Answer
Nothing. It's not about him. Do something another day instead. It's like birthdays. He's doesn't need to be feeling left out.

Candy Cane

I'm going to a birthday party for a 6 year old and a 4 year old. I was looking to buy one gift for the both of them. Does anybody have any ideas of what to buy them? The oldest one is a girl and the younger a boy.

Answer
A board game they can play together (or chess or checkers or somethig like Connect Four..kids love that game); a tent; any sporting equipment (ball & bat, badmitton set); a video game if they're into those; art supplies (paint, paper, clay, colored pencils, markers); two disposable cameras and a photo album; a DVD of a good kids' movie, complete with a basket containing popcorn, candy (for movie nite); a music CD; a restaurant gift certificate.

What should I get my soon to be 6 year old step daughter? He has almost everything you think of already! Any unique ideas? She got a puppy last year and a pony for christmas.... We are out of ideas!

Answer
Wow, starting the big gifts early... :) You can always get her more things for what she already has, like barbie/doll clothes/accessories, houses, etc. Or since she has everythign already, plan a trip to disneyland or another amusement park for her birthday.

What is a good birthday present for a 6 year old boy?
Q. I don't have kids this age and would appreciate a great/fun gift idea. I've got him lots of "educational toys" in the past- this year I want to give him something super fun!!!

Just as some help- its cold and snowy where we live!!

A. I know my nephew loves the lego's to where you can build like ships and different things like that, and they come in all different price ranges, so it could fit your budget.
