What are some great birthday ideas for a 6 yr. old boy?

Dianne G

And what fun things to do at the birthday party...need some ideas.

Answer
Hi: I raised three kids, two girls and one boy. I gave my kids bday parties until age 11- or 12. some fun things for boy parties; think of a theme. Your 6 year old has a favorite sport, cartoon or interest area. Educational themes, verses commercial themes were a favorite of mine. A dollar store or party store in your home town can also be an idea builder. Little boys almost always like dinosausors. For example sake, lets use dinosauors. Plan several activities to keep the party moving. Set a time limit, an hour and a half with 6 little boys can be exhausting, (unless it is like a family barbacue also). Plan an agenda, and it will help you and the kids have a good time. Start the party with an opening activity: free play: in a yard or park with swing set is nice, or playdough at a table, if you must be inside. Once all the guests have arrived get the party going with the first group activity. Kids this age ususally know the drill with what to expect with party games. I was amazed that my 13 year old daughter still wanted to play "drop the clothes pins" in the jar at her bday party. Then move to the next game, toss across, pin the tail on the dinosaur (they seem to love the blind fold), freeze tag. ASk your six year old to help plan his favorite games. Play 3 games then move to the song, blow out the candels, cake and ice cream. 6 yr. old boys are active so cake can turn into a food fight, so keep this short. If they are playing in it, its time for clean up. if you are out side a bucket full of water and paper towell can be a quick fix for sticky hands.
Then move to another game, since they have an overwhellming amount of energy, try an active game of tag, or short 2 on two races, or let them play if they are at the park or back yard. Boys love squirt guns in the summer. Use caution, it seems that there is always one kid in the bunch that is too rough, and someone gets hurt. Kids this age are conditioned to a school bell ringing, so ringing a bell can be very effective when it is time to change activities. Also, a good way to get kids attention is to tell them something like, "I need your eyes up here", or "let me see your eyes". It is a good idea to always communicate 100 times; what the next activity will be, what the plan is, and what you want in behavior, (ie: I want everyone sitting down for cake) Name tags can help tremendously call kids by name. Compliment the kids that are corroperating. (ie: suzie is sitting nicely and ready for cake).Open the gifts if you think the boys can hang in there with a sitting down time. If they are too active, it can be alot to ask little boys to sit still while someone else gets toys. If you are inside, think about having some legos, books, available for the fitgeting ones to have something quiet to do in the back of the room. Let the bday boy give the goody bags as the kids leave. It is a good way to get out of any complaining from kids, (ie: hey, its not fair they have a bigger bag than I do)

Party ideas for a 11 year old boy.?

Q.

Answer
Besides the usuals (lasertag, skating, bowling) my son really enjoyed having parties at a minor league baseball or hockey game. You could also attend a major league game and buy reasonable tickets. Depends on time of year, obviously. Many minor league teams will have a separate area for parties (birthday package), provide your son with a t-shirt and have visits from a mascot, and allow you to take gifts back to the car before the game. Check their websites for party packages, or call their ticket office. They may also put his name on the video screen as a happy birthday wish.

Best birthday gift ideas for a 11 year old boy?

birthday gift ideas 11 year old boy image

It's for my brother he is turning 11 and has Down syndrome. I want to give him the ultra best gift, that any 11 year old could get.
He loves the world, like as in travel and learning about different countries, which he formed from a young age when I told him about all the different places in the world that I will take him and showed him that Where we live isn't the own place that people live.
We also kick the football or play sport every night but mostly football since it's is favourite.
I am 5 years old then him, which makes me 16 but I want to make this his best birthday present from me.
Our dad died before he was born, so I guess I have always played the dad roll and taught him how to play football and all that guy stuff (well to a extent.)
Any ideas?

Answer
Awww yeaaaah. A hooker. That would make his birthday unforgettable! Lol jk take him to cedar point or Disney land. Not enough cash? Take him to a nature hike then have all his friends and family waiting for him somewhere for a big surprise party. That would be awesome! Maybe get a clown or magician if you can afford it.

Party ideas for a 11 year old girls birthday!?

Blah!

Ok my sister is turning 11 on the 12th and we have no idea what to do for her birthday party she is not a girly girl so nothing girly like makeup and facials and stuff somthing that a boy and girl will enjoy. I know she doesnt want it at home. And shes inviting about 8-10 friends and the budget is 100 $ please help and the party need to last about 2-3 hours!

Answer
Why not something simple like going to the movies first then to a pizza place and open gifts there and having cake? We do this and it's a lot of fun. Most all kids like movies and pizza! You can do little extras on the side if money permits.
Depending on how many kids you have, this should be under $100. Especially if you make the cake at home and go to the matinee movies.

What special b day present would you get an 11 year old girl?

Q. Please DON'T SAY makeup body lotions or any stuff that has to do with pretty pampering she's Tom boy-Ish but has her girly sides she likes games having fun her friends arty things she doesn't want a tv computer or sterio she says she doesn't need those things and we need something VERY special this year any ideas?

A. Maybe art supplies like Prismacolor colored pencils with a mandala or stained glass coloring book & maybe an art pad, too. You might get a book on art history.

Another cool thing is a henna body paint kit with a book of instructions. Then she could do non-permanent tattoos for summer like on her ankles. One story in our newspaper told about a teenage girl who learned how to do it. She was quite talented, & her hair stylist referred her to be hired to do it for a bridal party. Could even do it at birthday parties. Don't suggest all that to her, but if she's interested & practices for a few years, it could lead to that.

Even though she's boyish, she still might want a cute easy-care hairstyle for summer. You could offer to pay for it. I do see that she wouldn't want pampering. There's still such a thing as something easy to blow dry after swimming & when traveling in the summer.

She might want her own luggage. I got some for my 8th grade graduation & used it for the next 15-20 years. It's especially important if you think she'll be going to such things as church camp, scout camp, or family vacations. Otherwise, if you're her parents, she'd keep on borrowing yours. The main thing with this would be to include her in the selection because it is an expensive gift.

It's a good age, too, for a pet if she doesn't already have one. Cats are a whole lot easier than dogs. If she's interested, you could take her to the animal shelter to pick out one & look into anything that will help in the care, such an outdoor cat cage or a subscription to Cat Fancy magazine. I suggest a pet because it's good to have a loyal friend like a cat around this age. I've always had cuddly cats who loved to be with me in the garden or late at night while I read or studied, but maybe that was just how they were raised & because I was such a doting "parent" to the cat.

Maybe she & her friends would enjoy doing something special like going to a musical or seeing an art exhibit in a gallery or museum in a nearby city, with lunch either before or after. Of course, if you live in a big city, that could be old hat to all of you. Here people have taken girls & their friends down to China Town for poking around the shops & for eating out. It's a big city, but that was one way to put a single focus on the outing. There may be something available near you that would be fun, something different than a school field trip would be.

If your area has any city or state parks around that charge admission, this time of year they may be selling annual passes. Also, there may be classes through the recreation department, either art & hobbies or something athletic. Look online or pick up their catalog & ask if she's interested.

Well, if there's nothing that she's been begging for, then you might want to jot down all the answers you've rec'd & simply ask if any of them appeal to her. (Otherwise, as you know, you'd be throwing away your money.)
