My best friend's birthday is coming up. She'll be 15, and I want to get her something special. She has pretty much everything she really wants. She's not spoiled or anything, she just doesn't want much. I don't want to give her a giftcard or anything- I want it to be meaningful.

A little about her: she plays soccer and is in band. She's really mature loves music. I always joke that she's going to marry my brother, so I could do something that kind of shows our inside joke? I don't know. It has to be $50 or under.

you can make her a scrap book with pics of you and her and your friends and soccer stuff and her favorite team and her band and your brother. you can take a pic of their heads and put them on the bodies of people getting married. and you can also get her a gift card for i tunes or her favorite store.

this way it is a good gift cuz it includes something personal and something that she can actually use.

I share my birthday with a new aquantance and we have become good friends recently. I would like to find a funny or silly gift for her on our shared birthday. Any ideas? I am 50 she is in her late 30's.....and we both love silly, funny, goofy things! Thanks so much for any ideas!!!

make a scrapbook with inside jokes and pictures. you can add something silly to it. scrap books are easy to make and very cheap too :)
if not, burn a CD of funny sounds or songs, which will be quite cheap too.
personal stuff is better (and cheaper)because your friend will probably appreciate it more

It's a surprise party, and although she is not a close friend, I see her at least twice a month. I really don't want to do the "bottle of booze" gift, as everyone will be giving her that. I thought about 50 scratch off Lottery Tickets, but thought that would be too costly for an aquaintance. Does anyone have any inexpensive ideas for me? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

There is a book out called "Boomer Babes" by Linda Stasi & Rosemary Rogers. Its a paperback - Cost $12.95 in Michigan. Its all about baby boomers (female) turning 50. The cover says "A Woman's Guide to the New Middle Ages". If you want to spend more you could always throw in a few lottery tickets. I have the book and its pretty funny. Or else there are always joke books in book stores about being over the hill. Good Luck in your search and have fun at the party. What about a book and 50 jello shots...Obviously when u turn 50 you need a drink!

my 10 year old sister is having a birthday party and its ganna be held at our house. shes inviting like 7-10 of her girl friends and i was ganna do their hair and makeup..but i mean, what else should we do? pictures? ideas?

This is just a cute quick idea for anybody probably ages 10-teen The night before you are hosting your party go to the supermarket and buy a bunch of icecream and a bunch of toppings.INVITATIONS- Anything colorful and creative:You probably want to involve something with icecream on the invite. If the kids are younger you might want to tell them to bring old clothing. Before the party fill a spacious room with 2-3 tables and you put disposable table cloths onto each table.Depending on how many kids there are that is how many tables you will need. On each table put any size pan but all the pans should be the same size. On each table put 2-3 tubs of any flavor ice cream the kids enjoy. Put the same amount and the same kinds of icecream toppings on the table and appliances (like spoons plastic or not)When the kids arrive (at about five) dont let them in that particular room yet because you will want to keep it a surprise for the other kids or your kid if it is a surprise. Have everyone gather into a different room than the one with the tables and just let them hang out until 5:15. After that if you have a pool let them swim for about an hour.(until 6:20) and then have them come in for dinner (pizza or anything you want it depends on how everyone likes food or what kinds of food they like)After dinner it will probably be about 6:45-6:50 and gather the kids into the room with the tables and split them into 2-3 teams depending on how many kids are coming. My mom has had a hard year May of 2008 my brother passed away. How do i word the invite so that it will be an upbeat party. I want to make sure that no one brings any over the hill or RIP gifts/gag gifts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your guests all know that your mother lost a son (and you a brother--my heart goes out to you for your loss) then I think people will be respectful in general. Regarding jokes about her age? Just tell people in your invitation that you're having a birthday party for your mom--no need to bring the '50' up. Say that your family wants to celebrate your love for your great mom with a birthday party this year.

....and don't worry yourself if someone does make a wisecrack about her age. There's only so much you can control, and your mother will be able to handle it just fine no matter what. By giving your mother a big party, you're doing more than most adult children would do for their parent. It says, "I love you" in a big, BIG way. What a lovely act of love on your part!

My best friend is turning 15 and I don't know what to get her. She's a hyper, usually happy/positive person, really funny and smart. She like candy (in getting her some gummies, that's what she likes). She's having a fancy birthday party so I don't want to just give her a giftcard, that's not fun. I want a creative/cool gift and maybe something based on our friendship. We've been friends since we were little.

this is really weird, but my friend got me my favorite cereal this year (2 boxes!) and put an inside joke on the wrapping paper. Try to get her something really special; maybe a little more than cereal, but my point is that it doesnt have to be expensive. if she likes cooking, how about a babycakes maker? they sell mini cake pop makers, donut makers, pie pop makers, cupccake makers.... or maybe a huge stuffed animal of her favorite animal? ...you can also put together a collage (i know this might be cheesy) of all your memories together. you can also try something from sephora, like those little fragrance sampler kits where you get her 4 different rollerballs of perfume and she can send back a little card to sephora saying which one she wants the full thing of. maybe fair ivy? fair ivy is a thing where you can subscribe for 3months, 6 months, or a year and you get a few gifts in a package each month. It's really fun and the gifts are very cool! or look at the pillow pets website. they have so many and many are very cute! a new phone case, maybe? a homemade little card saying you guys will shop till you drop at the mall? that would be fun, and say you'll pay the first $50 she spends. The ideas are endless. i'll add more when i think of them, but i hope i helped! :)
