How do I throw a 30th Birthday Party for my single friend?

Help me ou

My single girlfriend is turn 30 this year. Does anyone have an clever ideas for decorations or a theme?

Answer
I'm single and also turning 30 this year. Hey, maybe you're my friend and this party is for me! ha! just kidding... ;)

If she's anything like me, and dreads turning 30, the last thing I want is to have people rubbing my new age-bracket in my face. Who wants to be reminded of how old they are getting when they're still single? So forego any "Over-the-Hill" type of decorations, or anything referring to "Old Maid" (I absolutely HATE that term!!!) Here are some parties that she may like:

-Honestly, I think a dinner party with her closest friends would be the best. Make reservations at her favorite restaurant and make a fun night of it. Take pictures!
-If she hates the thought of turning 30, do a "Happy 1st Anniversary of turning 29" party. Have 29 pink candles and 1 white candle decorating a white-frosted cake.
-Decorate the party like the 70's since that was the year she was born and have everyone wear 70's attire and play 70's music. Have 70's style posters decorating the room and maybe a history board of pictures of her growing through the years.
-Or if she's a fan of the 80's, throw an 80's style party, same idea as the 70's version...
-Or perhaps if she's a movie buff, have a party of "Big Movie Hits of the Last Three Decades". Have everyone dress up as their favorite movie character over the last 30 years.
-Maybe have people bring inexpensive gifts in thirty's. Thirty candy bars, thirty birthday cards about turning 30, a mixed CD with 30 songs on it, etc. Let your guests be the creative ones too.
-Murder mystery parties are awesome.
-Perhaps if you and her close friends can afford it, go on a road trip somewhere and celebrate. Vegas, Atlantic City, etc.

I don't suggest strippers or strip clubs. To me, that's fun in your early 20's. Turning 30 is a big step and the party shouldn't be reduced to something silly, unless she would like that...? *shrug*

***The most important part: Whatever you decide to do, invite men and women. If any of your guests have any potentional, great single men, bring them along! The more the single men, the merrier, right? ;)

Good luck! I'm sure she (and everyone else) will have a blast! And how thoughtful of you to do this for her! :)

Birthday gift ideas PLEASE!!?

Help! I'm so stumped on what to get my Man this year for his Birthday. He turned 30 today, and we have been together for almost 4 years. We have a 6 month old daughter, and we are suuuuuper happy. He's a typical Jock, and he's completely infatuated with sports. Hockey, Football, Baseball, and Rugby, to name the most important to him. People always buy him sports stuff, and now it just sits in our closet. So I don't want to get any of that for him. I also made him a special album of the baby for Christmas, and a framed collage of the baby also. He doesn't like fancy dinners. I bought him a ton of clothes for Christmas also. He already has Jewelry from me. We are fortunate enough to be able to go out and buy the things we want and need, on our own, so he doesn't really NEED anything. He's a sentimental guy, so its not about the money that I spend. But I'm just so puzzled about what to get!! Its a big year, 30, and I want it to be memorable. What do I do???? Lol I appreciate your suggestions :)

Answer
I think you should take him out to a nice romantic restaurantvor planned to have a romantic dinner with flower wine and romantic music follow with a romantic bath with bubble champagne candle and rose petals and music.then find him a something you know he might like

Birthday Gift Idea (for male) - HELP!?

spiritsoce

Ok I need some help and I need it ASAP! My best friend/roommate/boyfriend's birthday is Wednesday. He's turning 30. I need a gift idea.
We live in Southern California. He actually just moved here from Texas about 6 months ago - he's a newbie.
He's BIG into sports (Loves Texas football)- cooking - fishing/outdoor stuff. He likes traveling and visiting new places and seeing new things.
He was in the military and enjoys books/movies that have to with military/history/documentary stuff.

I want to get him a gift that he'll really like and it will mean something.

Any ideas?
He LOVES sports! He wants to check out more of California (amusement/parks/touristy stuff). He loves to cook. Loves movies.

...one more thing: I'm leaving the night of his birthday (Wed.) to go to family's in Az. for Thanksgiving.
Not possible to make dinner, etc...that night.
I want to do something small tomorrow night and/or then maybe this weekend?

Answer
Are there any football games playing around the time of his b-day? Every man would die if they had tickets to a game. You could go away for the weekend and do some fishing and camping. And I would buy him a new book for a gift. But you should spend his birthday together, and don't think of going away for the weekend as his only present. Don't forget to give him the one "thing" he really wants!!! Happy 30th Mr. !!!!

Ideas to celebrate my Hubby's 30th Birthday..?

Q. My hubby is turning 30 in September this year and I need some ideas on how to make his day very special.. I have already purchased a Spa Gift Voucher for him and now what else can I do? I live in New York and we are pure vegetarian so where can we go to have a nice candlelight dinner? We are gonna celebrate his birthday for the first time too as we got married last year only. So, please help me!!

Answer
Spa treatment, buy him 10 visits to the Russian and Turkish Baths, and when he comes home, a good home cooked meal (steak and potatoes), and sex would be ideal. Just the two of you.

Ignore the girl above, no man wants balloons and hearts paper crap on his birthday. He wants adult pampering, good food, and sex. Treat him like a man.

Laughing at he suggestion of Becco's, you can get reservations for his NEXT birthday. Reservations are 6 months in advance.

What kind of present would you buy a male?

Zoe

I'm a 16 year old girl and I think women are easy to buy for, they like some form of jewellery but when it comes to men I do not have a clue what to buy.

What kind of present would you buy a:
16 year old (boyfriend)?
30 year old?
50 year old?
70 year old?

For christmas or their birthday?

Thanks for helping.
Zoe xoxox

Answer
To be honest you dont really have to get a guy anything. Most guys just crave attention and affection from their girlfriend. In a 16 year olds case this would mean something like sex haha. Or just extra attention from their girl. When guys get older though they mature and they'll learn to appreciate more and also get new hobbies. So you should focus on their interests when it comes to gift giving. If they smoke pot then buy em some weed. If their into motorcycles take a few pictures of yourself naked by one and turn it into a calendar. Just kidding XD. Buy them a cool motorcycle helmet instead. Although the calendar isnt a bad idea haha. Clothing can work for any age of guy though. And as a bonus it should be something you think they look good in. And you should tell them that. Like "hey babe i bought you this new hoodie. You'll look so sexy in this ;)". A guy will really get a kick out of that. Although that would be kinda awkward to say if you were both 70 though XD.

I'm poor and my boyfriend is rich, what do I get him for his birthday?

Lindsay

We've been together for 3 months and we're getting pretty serious. I'm 27, he's 30. I'm super poor and in school while working full time just to get by, I have a little money left over in the middle of the month to play with, like a couple hundred, but that's it. He on the other hand gets a handsome salary, owns several cars and an enormous house. He has everything and I have no idea what to do for him for his birthday. Help. What are some good romantic/fun and inexpensive ways to celebrate his bday?

Answer
I have the same issue with my boyfriend. So for his birthday I made him a painting. Art is something I'm good at, and that painting was only something that I could have done and no one else has a similar copy. The painting was special because it was of a lake with rowers on it, since he loves rowing.
I know its kind of lame for a man since most of them are not into art, but that's not the point. The point is that I worked on somethinf very special for him for a long time just to make him happy. Whether he liked the piece or not, it doesn't matter because he knows what I am willing to do for him to make him happy.

So do that. Use something that you're good at and incorporate it into a gift for him. If that's not really your style and you don't want to make something, then dont feel obligated. You could also try getting him something that he really wants or needs but would never buy it for himself. Also, avoid getting him something that everyone else know he wants. My sister was telling everyone how much she wanted a certain clutch for christmas, so brother bought it for her. it turned out that one of my sister's friends bought her the same clutch, but gave it to her first. My brother was so upset and it was too late to exchange it for something else bc she ordered it online. So avoid getting him something that someone else is likely to get him too. You don't want to deal with trying to find something else last minute.
If all else fails, treat him to something special in the bedroom and tell him how much you love him. Get a nice glass of wine light some candles and take it from there.
good luck

i am friends with a male horse rider but ive searched all over amazon but it only comes up with presents for girls, Help Me Please his birthday is next month but i really want to find something soon, Thankyou

Answer
English or western is the question...
My husband is a calf roper (rodeo) so over the years I've gotten him:
-Custom made spurs with his initials on them ($450)
-A bit that matches his spurs ($500)
-New western shirts (they can never have enough- $50- $80)
-A nice baseball cap (if your friend is a roper look for a Hooey hat... is the new "in" brand- $30-$50)
-A custom made headstall ($300)
-A nice belt (he's won a lot of buckels so he's constantly switching them out- $100-$400)
- A nice leather halter with his good rope horse's name on it ($120)
- Bell boots ($30)
-Skid Boots($50)
- Pro choice boots($100)
Look through his tack room and see what looks a little worn out... I find we can never have enough bell boots and whatnot! (If you're not familiar with horses go to your local tack store and ask for no-turn bell boots)

Thing NOT to get!!
-Boots (they have got to be tried on)
- A cowboy hat (men are CRAZY PICKY about their hats!)
- Ropes (crazy picky about those too)

I swear men are SO much harder to buy for than women! Good luck!

Birthday Gifts For A 4 Year Old?

Jasmine

My soon-to-be-step-daughter is turning 4 on September 24th and her birthday party is on that day too. I am having trouble deciding what to get her. I don't really have a budget, but I want it to be nice, you know? So she knows I care deeply about her. I don't want to get her a giftcard or a savingsbond or cash. I want something she can use or play with. Here are some things she likes:
Fairies
Princesses
Dolls
Dress Up Stuff
Basically any toy known to man!

Answer
If there is a Build a Bear in your area, give her a gift certificate for that store. . . then GO with her to build her own bear, dress it up, fill out a birth certificate, etc. It's not just a toy--it's a whole experience. She will cherish both the bear and the time spent with you. Or, if you feel uncomfortable with that, build the bear yourself and present her with it. They are so cute and cuddly, and she will love it.
You can easily build a bear for about $30.

Another idea: The Make Your Own Twinkly Tiara book by Klutz. It's an art kit to make your own tiaras. It's also an activity the two of you can share. http://www.klutz.com/catalog/product/106

There are also Princess books, such as this one, which comes with pictures the child can project onto the wall.
