Oh. I thought you meant you wanted to like be the plate or table or whatever. You know, when you put food all over yourself and lay down so people can eat off you. I think that's so tacky. Ewww. I'm always afraid that this will lead to people getting the urge to be human toilets. Ewww, ewww, ewwww!

Onto your question. . . Is he a vegetarian? I've seen those comercials and all I can think is that someone would have to really like fruits. I like fruits and veggies and even I don't think I could eat all that. But it is an interesting idea. Very pretty too.

Have you ever heard of Omaha Steaks? www.omahasteaks.com I've had food from there and it was fabulous!! The nice thing is that you can freeze what you don't eat and then cook it later. If he likes steaks, seafood or meat this is an idea.

I was thinking of ordering a pizza and getting some of my friends over. they are between 24-29 years old. probably get a meat pizza and maybe a vegetarian pizza. maybe some wine, but I don't drink much. I usually drink pepsi. anyway, any other ideas?

I was also thinking of getting her something nice, like a nice flower pot or maybe a gift card to a shoe place.

My friend is not the average teenager. She hates shopping (unless it's the ikea store). Perfume, makeup, clothes, and jewelry are out of the picture. She's a vegetarian-that doesn't eat vegetables. Loves karate and art but has all the art supplies under the sun. It's her sixteenth birthday this week, so I need some help to find an extra special gift. Thanks!

That means to me that anything Karate related would be a good gift. Like the clothes/uniform, known as a Gee, that they work out in. Also, how about Karate weapons? Depending on what form of Karate she is interested in, they work with weapons. Does she have any weapons? Do a search for "karate weapons." Some forms of Karate make you learn weapons at every stage in order to progress to the next level. Also, you could ask her parents. They probably are going to get something special, but might have a suggestion for you.

Also, she's into art, good movies, good books, clothes and all that normal teenage stuff.

A good clothing site is alternative apparel.
A good "green" present would be perhaps all the supplies needed for growing basil or some other herb. I love gardening, and it is fun to grow herbs from seed.
Other good ideas for already grown potted plants would be bromelias, or calatheas.
Otherwise perhaps a good vegetarian cookbook, my favourite is Moosewood. The recipes are simple and very delicious.

I guess I can give you a few general suggestions.

-Keep the menu vegetarian
-wrap all gifts in newspaper
-if the weather is crummy, you could show the movie "happy feet"
-Head out to a local park
-Give small plants in re purposed containers as party gifts (old soda bottles would work well)
-Stay away from individually packaged anything

She's REALLY hard to buy clothes for and she never wears jewelry.

I really have no clue what to get her.

What about taking her to a movie or getting her tickets to a movie?

I'm super picky, too. I usually just pick out my own gifts, but it's nice to get something that's a surprise that the person has put a lot of thought into.

What about a gift cert for a manicure or pedicure? Or you could get her make up, if you know what she likes (check her stash to find out which brands she likes).

Is she sports minded? Would she like tickets to a game of some sort?

Does she love books? Or is she into crafts? You can give her something for her interests. Ask her mom if there's anything she needs, even.

A 16 year old girl could still appreciate a really cool and cuddly teddy bear, too. Have you noticed she has a few around?

What about something from Bath and Body Works - lotion and body sprays or even perfume, if you're spending that much.

She's a vegetarian, but she has to have a weakness for something, like coffees or teas or chocolates? Get her something that would be an indulgence for her.

How about getting her a vegetarian cookbook?
