Birthday gift help for 20 year old boy!?

My boyfriend of 3 1/2 years is turning 20 mid may and I have NO idea what to get him! I usually buy him something for his birthday and make him something for christmas, so I'd like to buy him something this year, and preferably something somewhat "better" than usual since it is the big 20! Any ideas? He is a pretty laid back guy, tech savvy, likes video games, comics, being active, trying new things, music, etc... and he's a sophomore in college. Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!

I have a LOT of friends birthdays this month. I'm normally very creative. I make most people unique gifts that have to do with them. Money is really tight and idk what I can get for all of these people. I have made giant cookie cakes in the past. I've made various big posters and cards. I like funny gifts I need ideas.

Girl #1:
-Happy person, going into college
-Huge stoner. But someone else is already buying her a pipe and grinder.
-I'm thinking of making her a bracelet with her name sewn in bc she loves my bracelets
- LOVES the color green
-has a mom personality
-18th bday

Girl #2:
-used to be my best friend. can't stand her now. won't be too difficult bc she copies me in every way so anything I like she likes. she only invited me to her party bc she invited all my friends since she doesn't have any of her own.

-considering making her just a cookie cake in hopes she gets fatter. but she got me a lot for my birthday. Don't want to be an OBVIOUS bitch. But I'd enjoy getting a present that seems nice but could potentially ruin her.

Its my boyfriends birthday soon, any ideas for a gift?

I wanted to get him maybe a t-shirt from express since he loves express, but then I wanted to get him a more personal gift. We run track together at college, and he's very good, he also likes football. His sign is the leo (lion) & he has a tattoo of it. & he also drives me everywhere & travels alot, so i was thinking maybe something for his car, but he could careless about its appearance, but its so messy.

Any ideas would be great! I wanted to do something special, cause he got me a charm bracellett with meaningful charms on it, and a necklace with the winged foot for track too.

My boyfriend sounds a lot like yours, he's a college football player, his car is always a mess & also has tattoos. This year for his birthday I decided to get him a GUESS watch, it was just the right size...flashy but not too flashy. It looked amazing on his well-built arms (and I'm assuming your boyfriend is fit as well). During the night, his family and I took him for dinner & well let's just say dessert was to be eaten at home haha. But seriously, get him something YOU KNOW HE WILL USE, boys don't really shop that much...and remember girly, BIRTHDAY SEX.

Ideas for birthday gift for a bright 4 yr old girl. Would like suggestions for specific toys/games.?

I'm her grandma. I give her lots of books. We have loved collecting Little People but I think she may be outgrowing them. I'm looking for something she might want to spend some time with and probably play with alone.
All your answers are SO great! Thanks so much! She has MegaBlocks which are like big legos. Of course, she has a Cabbage Patch doll and a Cabbage Patch newborn. I've gotten several sets of Fisher Price "Little People." (I love them too.) She does still play with them a lot. She has a great imagination. I'll give her mom a call to help me pick. Your ideas should help me with her birthday and Christmas. Thanks.

one of my favorite gifts to give to both boys and girls of ages from 3-8 or 9 is an art pack.

I begin with a fishing tackle type box and in the sections of the top I put in things like small rulers, stickers, roll of tape, colored pencils, pens/pencils, scissors, paper clips, and other assorted supplies. In the bottom or larger section I place things like various sizes of markers, crayons, notepads, other drawing tools like stencils . And then I decorate the outside with the childs name, and stickers.

then in another bag or briefcase(even the paper or cloth ones work well--and the child feels like a grownup when they use it. Inside I place things like assorted types of paper, colored(get good quality) drawing paper (get a few different types some for markers, some just for pencils, and some for painting) and maybe add an idea book or two (but no coloring books)

All of these ideas should also be based on the age of the child. and should be used with adult supervision until you are sure the child will use them correctly and safely.

I have been told fequently that these are sometimes the favorite gift that a child has recieved at a bithday party...it allows them to explore different types of art mediums and gives them good self esteem about their work and encourages them to take care of their things.

My own children also recieved similar gifts from me and always bring them up when they talk about gifts they have enjoyed the most....my youngest hated having to give up her "box" when she went to college--it had been with her since she was about 8 and she kept all of her "special" art supplies in it and hid her favorite pens and pencils in it to keep them from her sister.

I have a nephew that is 12 & one that is 14 both have birthdays coming up in September. For the past two years for birthdays they have received Game Stop gift cards from us; for Christmas gifts they have received a hoody of their favorite college football team or race car driver, and Axe body wash set & a stocking full of their favorite candy & gum. Both boys tell our whole family that they get the best presents from us :-)
For their birthday this year we are giving the Visa gift cards that we purchased at our bank; those can be spent anywhere.
They are at an age where we just didn't know where to go with the gifts - too old for toys; have every video game already, we were just clueless but apparently we've managed to figure these two out pretty well - hope this helps you out!

What kind of xmas gift to get for him?

I want to get a special friend of mine a gift for xmas. He already sent me a gift in the mail all the way from AZ to MN! It was a diamond past present forever necklace and earrings, along with candy and erasers. Don't ask why. lol Anyhow, what ideas can you give me to get a 15 year old boy for around $10-$20 dollars?

He just moved to Arizona this year and lives in an apartment. He is into the Wild(hockey team) Modern Warcraft, Snowmobiling and lots of boyish things. so thanks!

This a bit tricky, coming after Christmas & all. Also, you might have to consult someone in his family to see if it's something he already has or not. So, I would suggest for now you get a great blank card that he'd enjoy having forever on a bulletin board in his room. You'd write your thank you note in the card. It could cost about $4. You'd hint at whatever is the "why" for his selection but still is something that if somebody else got nosy & read it, it would still be okay. You'd say that receiving his gift made you think about whatever that you did together. Such a card should be related to his interests. Could be in a health food store or another small shop. You might see one or more large magnets to mail with the card. The health food store where I go has magnets, calendars, candles, wool hats with flaps from other countries (very much in style here for college students), socks, & gloves. Some of these would be cheaper in dept. stores, but sometimes I see something special & get it, like buying myself several magnets that I liked this year.

That would buy you time to shop for either his birthday or Valentine's Day & to consult with his mother or whoever if needed or to get info directly from him without him realizing it. Still have his dog? (if he had one) What posters do each of you have in your rooms? What books he likes? Has he bought that book he mentioned before? Just normal info you could share via email or texting. The risk is that you would spur him on to go ahead & buy that book. (groan!)

Suggestions for the future:
Poster related to his interests; framed or not
paperback book--allows tons of choices, since he has several interests. Could even be a book of Far Side comics or whatever.
Decorative stone. I'm thinking heavy & wide like a paperweight for a desk, bookshelf, or dresser. Maybe black & brown striped. Hope you get what I mean as I have an image of one that's maybe 3" high & 4 or more inches wide. Could be in a store that has accessories for the home like things that adults might buy to go on mantel, shelf, or coffee table. Could be in a hobby shop or gift shop.
Model kit of a war plane or similar war craft. Again, it would be in a hobby shop.
Incidentally, one time I bought a Star War's R2D2 with movable legs on a heavy chain for a necklace. Most likely you won't see that now, but there might be something else.
Bookends from a hobby shop or from a home furnishings store. These can be attractive or related to hobbies. When I was a teen I had bookends that were made like a ceramic dachshund cut into 2 halves. Would be heavy to ship. Check out the office supply stores to see if they turn up anything interesting that might be lighter but unusual. Could use metal bookends to hold the books with the ornamental ones outside of those.
Aside from home furnishings stores, gift shops, department stores, & import shops might have some of these things, too.
T-shirt or sweatshirt related to interests if you can find out his size. Could be with a design such as a rock group, a TV show or his favorite hockey team, or a snowmobile theme, or just something you like. Soon they will be coming out with spring colors for clothing. I bought a couple in spring colors for myself from the men's dept. of Target when they had a preseason sale one year. I've also bought very soft T-shirts form K-Mart. You're not really supposed to buy clothes for a guy that is just a boyfriend, but maybe there's an exception for Tees & sweatshirts.
Frisbee. The really good ones might be glow-in-the-dark or the Frisbee original classic, around $10. If he has a dog, he might like the soft Frisbee made especially for dogs.

As far as shipping something heavy is concerned, get in line at the post office & consult with them when you have something in mind but haven't bought it yet. When my mother was still alive & I was shipping stuff to her several times per yr (Christmas, Mother's Day, & birthday), sometimes I called a nursery in her town to have a plant delivered. Other times I got one of those slim Priority Mail boxes & then was often lucky enough to find a book and/or other items that fit in it. If it's not heavy, shipping would be even cheaper in their lowest price Priority Mail paper envelope that is one price regardless of weight. I say "not heavy" because you wouldn't want the envelope to rip. What you do is to wrap the item & then place it in the envelope or box.

Hope this gives you at least one idea that you like out of all of this.
