Something different to do for 6 yr old girl birthday?

julz

Trying to think up something unique for my little girl. The last couple of years we rented out the local gymnastics place, Mc'ds etc. It seems harder and harder each year to come up with something. It just seems like you get more of a turn out when you hold "exciting" birthday parties where parents feel comfortable dropping them off. I've got another month to plan, but it comes quick. Any good ideas?
Kim, that sounds fun except they have a horse already in the back yard! lol, I'd love to take them to Chuck e CHeese, but we live too far away, mabye I"ll convince her to actually stay at home and have a party!
Ok Kim, but do you do any housework? Babysitting?Move on in and you can ride the horses all day! lol

Answer
Well, when I was born to - my goodness NOW - an ideal bd gift would involve art or horses. Since she's still a bit young, maybe a western-style pony ride mixed with hayride out in the country with hotdogs grilled over an open fire would be fun? 6 may still be young, but I love creating great memories! I'd pull some extra parents to help, making sure that the kids don't get too excited and burn themselves or fall off the wagon...

Looks like your daughter has a great mom!

2. outside toys if it's warm where they live- balls, jumpropes, tennis raquets, etc.
3. model kits for the boy if he likes building (cars, dinosaurs, radios, etc.)
4. crystal growing kits
5. educational video games like Leap Frog's Leapster (those are huge hits but pricier!)
6. bikes
7. train set for the boy (Thomas the Train is huge)
8. kids table w/chairs for them to sit at
9. kids little sofa/chairs that fold out for sitting & playing
10. a big kids kitchen set w/pretend kitchen
11. a large dollhouse
12. electronic reading systems like Tag/Leap Frog
13. Fisher Price's Cool School computer
14. computer games

this is a small list but hopefully it will spark some ideas for you! not sure about the balloon delivery- maybe try a local flower shop?

i need three birthday gifts, for my three daughters.?

ishmel

my daughter's all have birthdays within 3 weeks. two of them (will be 10 and 6) have their birthdays, one day apart (the next day) the one who will be 12 has hers less then 3 weeks from the other two.
of course, everything has to be equal. mostly between the 10 and 12 yr old...
i am at a loss for gift ideas.
i was thinking of getting the to be 12 yr old a charm bracelet, or getting her ears pierced...(the privelege of being the oldest and i was 12 when i got mine done...)

the to be 12 and to be 6 are girlie girls, and the to be 10 is an outdoorsy, sporty, tomboyish girl.
any ideas?

Answer
That would make her feel alot older and for a girl that age to feel that way is huge!
Does the to be 10 have a bike? Or does she roller skate? If so you may consider having her birthday party at a local roller skating place and have her pick out her friends to attend.
I would think that for the 6 yr old, maybe the charm bracelet that you were talking about for the older girl. If she is a girlie girl I know that she would take good care of it. That way you can pick out the trinkets that match her personality and likes.

Happy birthday to the young ladies!

Birthday gift ideas for 6 yr old girl?

My son has been invited to his kindergarten classmates 6th Birthday party and I don't know what to get. Any helpful tips is appreciated. Thanks

Answer
For kids I usually give toys or clothes (especially if they're girls). At this age, girls use their imaginations and loves to pretend-play and to be doctors, teachers, nurses, veterinarians, then you could give a toy doctor/nurse kit or something like so she can play doctor or play school with her ââdolls and stuffed toys. If you want to give clothes, choose a cute cotton dress or a set of blouse and shorts. Ask your son if he knows what she likes, for example, if he knows that she likes to ride a bike, you might consider giving her a helmet with her ââname engraved on it. If she is more into creative style, you can give a crayola kit or melissa and doug kit.

Birthday gift for a 6 year old girl?

itstoolate

I need some gift ideas for my boyfriend's little sister. She's turning 6 next week and I want to get her something that she will absolutely love! She's been talking to me about her birthday for months now and she's super excited. She likes barbies and other toys but not as much as she loves other grown up stuff. She hates it when someone calls her a kid. So I wanted to get her something that is for kids but also makes her feel kind of "older". She's been wanting to see my friends so I have already decided to take her out on her birthday so she can meet my friends and cut a cake. But I'm still not sure about the gift. She loves gifts so there has to be a gift! Any ideas would be appreciated!

P.S. In the past, I've bought her barbies, dresses and colouring books etc. She loved them all. She also likes hannah montana. I don't want to get her make up or anything like that because my boyfriend thinks she's too young to be wearing any make up.

Answer
when i had a 6 yr old sister she was like that too. i would get her a chirley temple from the restaurant that you go too. tell her its a special grown up thing. u and ur friends need to get it too. ask for extra cherrys for her too. it makes them feel special. HOPE I COULD HELP! P.S. idk if i spelled chirley temple right but its basically cherry 7up. Check out my blog at http://limegreenflipflops.blog.com/ tell me what i can doo better! thx!

What are some great birthday ideas for a 6 yr. old boy?

Dianne G

And what fun things to do at the birthday party...need some ideas.

Answer
Hi: I raised three kids, two girls and one boy. I gave my kids bday parties until age 11- or 12. some fun things for boy parties; think of a theme. Your 6 year old has a favorite sport, cartoon or interest area. Educational themes, verses commercial themes were a favorite of mine. A dollar store or party store in your home town can also be an idea builder. Little boys almost always like dinosausors. For example sake, lets use dinosauors. Plan several activities to keep the party moving. Set a time limit, an hour and a half with 6 little boys can be exhausting, (unless it is like a family barbacue also). Plan an agenda, and it will help you and the kids have a good time. Start the party with an opening activity: free play: in a yard or park with swing set is nice, or playdough at a table, if you must be inside. Once all the guests have arrived get the party going with the first group activity. Kids this age ususally know the drill with what to expect with party games. I was amazed that my 13 year old daughter still wanted to play "drop the clothes pins" in the jar at her bday party. Then move to the next game, toss across, pin the tail on the dinosaur (they seem to love the blind fold), freeze tag. ASk your six year old to help plan his favorite games. Play 3 games then move to the song, blow out the candels, cake and ice cream. 6 yr. old boys are active so cake can turn into a food fight, so keep this short. If they are playing in it, its time for clean up. if you are out side a bucket full of water and paper towell can be a quick fix for sticky hands.
Then move to another game, since they have an overwhellming amount of energy, try an active game of tag, or short 2 on two races, or let them play if they are at the park or back yard. Boys love squirt guns in the summer. Use caution, it seems that there is always one kid in the bunch that is too rough, and someone gets hurt. Kids this age are conditioned to a school bell ringing, so ringing a bell can be very effective when it is time to change activities. Also, a good way to get kids attention is to tell them something like, "I need your eyes up here", or "let me see your eyes". It is a good idea to always communicate 100 times; what the next activity will be, what the plan is, and what you want in behavior, (ie: I want everyone sitting down for cake) Name tags can help tremendously call kids by name. Compliment the kids that are corroperating. (ie: suzie is sitting nicely and ready for cake).Open the gifts if you think the boys can hang in there with a sitting down time. If they are too active, it can be alot to ask little boys to sit still while someone else gets toys. If you are inside, think about having some legos, books, available for the fitgeting ones to have something quiet to do in the back of the room. Let the bday boy give the goody bags as the kids leave. It is a good way to get out of any complaining from kids, (ie: hey, its not fair they have a bigger bag than I do)

Birthday gift ideas for dad from a 3 yr old girl?

lady me

So my hubbys birthday is sunday and we dont really have money to spend on gifts but i want some crafty ideas for something that our 3 yr old daughter could do for him?? ANy ideas????

Answer
They're expensive (about $6) compared to other cards, but we love buying the ones that are recordable so you can record your daughter saying, "You're the best! I love you Daddy!" Use a stamp pad to have her put her handprint on the inside cover of the card and date it. If she's working on writing her name, have her attempt that too. It's a great keepsake for him to take to work. We did that for the grandmas for Mother's Day.
How about having her help you cook a favorite treat? My 3 year old loves cooking. If he likes fishing, how about having her paint a bobber or pick out a fishing lure? If he's into sports, how about going to a minor league game together?

Any Ideas for low cost Christmas gifts?

I am on a very tight budget and wanted to get ready early and have some ideas for gifts for ages 3 yrs old boy and 6 & 7 yr old girls to a 14 yr old boy to adults (family and friends) Please someone help me with some ideas for this year so I can start now...lol Thanks

Answer
First do theses things

Set budget per person,
Make a list if who,
Then ask them their hobbies,
Favorite thing,
Favorite color,
Favorite music or artist,
Favorite movie they want or movie theme they collect.
If they like to read who is their favorite writer and what book do they want if it is a series?
If they go to church and enjoy church, a book called the bible promise book has allot of inspiration. If they need a bible cover with straps get that. If they like board games see what games they haven’t got yet, but would love to. Games are cheap depending on their level.
Places you can shop cheap, but cool is flea markets, dollar stores, family dollar, dollar general, big lots, check clearance stuff in Wal-Mart, target est. look in ebay and even a web site called

http://www.abcdistributing.com/ its like Fingerhut only better,

If you are sewing creative you can make bags, pillow or even a blanket with a personal touch. You can mix that with what their favorite color is. If they are collectors of comics or baseball cards check your local hobby shops. Even hobby lobby had great gifts low prices if you go by a theme. If you have an artist to buy for get them an art kit, especially with all the school supplies still out.

Example’s = if they like soccer or play soccer get a poster of a famous soccer player, favorite color theme in their room and what they would like in their room. If they like jewelry you can check jewelry stores for their clearance stuff, if they loose hair dealies get them a large set of their favorite colors. If they like certain soaps or lotions get them that. Boys are probably allot of sports watch out for academy sports sales. See if they need sports socks or kneepads, warm clothes (sweats are cheap to get if they do allot of outside fall winter activities)

All theses can help broaden your search as well as different things to choose from. Put one thing to remember make sure they are not planning on buying them before Christmas comes and if they do hold onto all the receipts, plus what ever you buy make sure you tell others so they don’t but them also. Plus you need to make sure if they have a birthday before Christmas you see what they received then. That will change things sometimes.

What should I buy 5 yr old twins for their birthday?

Mikki Sue7

My daughter was invited to a birthday party in a couple of weeks. It is for twins; boy/girl. The girl I have a couple of ideas for, but I have no idea what to get the boy. I asked them at school and they both smiled and said they didn't know. I asked their mom and she said that she didn't know; they only cared about opening a present. I don't want to to over spend, but want to get decent presents. Any suggestions? DVD? Games? Toys? Thanks!

Answer
Was there any theme on the party invitation? If so, go off of that (i.e. Spiderman toys for the boy/Barbie for the girl if it was a Spidey or Barbie invite.)

Otherwise, craft sets are always good. They have this awesome sidewalk chalk out now that reacts to 3D glasses (included) that is really cool.

Consider getting them completely different things, too. I'm sure that they've had their share of "together" presents or neutral items because they're twins. Separate gifts help them form their own sense of identity and it's truly their "own" - not something they have to share.

As a mom of a 6 years old boy, I have to admit that I enjoy him receiving gifts that are a little more on the educational side - books are awesome, we LOVE doing puzzles together, and board games are great for family fun that we can all enjoy (and games like Sorry involve number recognition and counting - always a plus!)

Just about every store will print out gift receipts, so if you're concerned about the acceptance of the gift, include one in the card. It helps if the kiddos get duplicates and then they can have the joy of "shopping" for themselves!
