Answer
It really just depends what they are into. Here are a few ideas that my 5 yr. old niece has liked:
1. big arts/crafts sets (like make your own jewelry, stepping stone, painting, etc.)
2. outside toys if it's warm where they live- balls, jumpropes, tennis raquets, etc.
3. model kits for the boy if he likes building (cars, dinosaurs, radios, etc.)
4. crystal growing kits
5. educational video games like Leap Frog's Leapster (those are huge hits but pricier!)
6. bikes
7. train set for the boy (Thomas the Train is huge)
8. kids table w/chairs for them to sit at
9. kids little sofa/chairs that fold out for sitting & playing
10. a big kids kitchen set w/pretend kitchen
11. a large dollhouse
12. electronic reading systems like Tag/Leap Frog
13. Fisher Price's Cool School computer
14. computer games

this is a small list but hopefully it will spark some ideas for you! not sure about the balloon delivery- maybe try a local flower shop?

Any Ideas for low cost Christmas gifts?

Answer
First do theses things

Set budget per person,
Make a list if who,
Then ask them their hobbies,
Favorite thing,
Favorite color,
Favorite music or artist,
Favorite movie they want or movie theme they collect.
If they like to read who is their favorite writer and what book do they want if it is a series?
If they go to church and enjoy church, a book called the bible promise book has allot of inspiration. If they need a bible cover with straps get that. If they like board games see what games they haven’t got yet, but would love to. Games are cheap depending on their level.
Places you can shop cheap, but cool is flea markets, dollar stores, family dollar, dollar general, big lots, check clearance stuff in Wal-Mart, target est. look in ebay and even a web site called

http://www.abcdistributing.com/ its like Fingerhut only better,

If you are sewing creative you can make bags, pillow or even a blanket with a personal touch. You can mix that with what their favorite color is. If they are collectors of comics or baseball cards check your local hobby shops. Even hobby lobby had great gifts low prices if you go by a theme. If you have an artist to buy for get them an art kit, especially with all the school supplies still out.

Example’s = if they like soccer or play soccer get a poster of a famous soccer player, favorite color theme in their room and what they would like in their room. If they like jewelry you can check jewelry stores for their clearance stuff, if they loose hair dealies get them a large set of their favorite colors. If they like certain soaps or lotions get them that. Boys are probably allot of sports watch out for academy sports sales. See if they need sports socks or kneepads, warm clothes (sweats are cheap to get if they do allot of outside fall winter activities)

All theses can help broaden your search as well as different things to choose from. Put one thing to remember make sure they are not planning on buying them before Christmas comes and if they do hold onto all the receipts, plus what ever you buy make sure you tell others so they don’t but them also. Plus you need to make sure if they have a birthday before Christmas you see what they received then. That will change things sometimes.
