Please suggest a birthday gift idea for my wife's birthday?

Q. Hello there,

Thanks a lot for taking time to read this.

When is the Birthday?
4 days from today

What are my current plans for the birthday?
Currently I am planning for a quick lunch other than greeting card and flowers. But this is the usual every year.

The constraints being:
1) we have a 2 month young baby (first kid) so wifey prefers not to be out of home for more than an hour or two (so that she can feed the baby when required at home)
2) generally I do not like the idea of beauty packages like manicure/pedicure/et al. But she does love it!

Warm Regards,
Dharanidhar

A. First get a babysitter, then go to a nice dinner, go home to give baby a feeding, head back out for a movie & then back home & enjoy the rest of the night with eachother's company - a good, old-fashioned date for the birthday girl & new parents, but allowing time for the precious baby to be feed....good luck & enjoy....

Any ideas for my homemade I.O.U gift certificates for 18 year old girl? (Please read!)?
Q. I am going to make some homemade 'I.O.U' gift certificates for my younger sister, with things written on them such as 'day at the cinema' and '1 batch of cookies' so whenever she wants to she can hand me 1 to 'redeem' it. It is part of her birthday gift.

I really need lots more ideas other than the cinema and a batch of cookies, the more ideas the better! Please help me, I am stuck for ideas!

Thank you very much, I'll pick a best answer :o)

A. Well I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for so here are a couple of ideas

1. Day at the Spa: You give her a massage, pedi and mani or what ever you're able to do. Maybe a homemade natural facial?
2. Assistant for the Day: You're pretty much her slave for the day, so you can do her laundry, etc.
3. Get out of Jail Free Card: She can use it whenever she gets you really upset.
4. Breakfast in Bed
5. Chores: You do whichever chore she has to do
6. One home cooked dinner with dessert
7. One Saturday night on the town with Free chauffeur service
8. Half an Hour of relaxing foot massage after a particularly grueling day
9. A Luxurious bubble bath
10. One carwash with a promise to fill up the gas tank - Totally Free
11. One free offer of returning your library books/DVDs.
12. A night of playing your favorite game.
13. One quick trip to the store when you are out of aspirin. Or midol. Or tampons.
14. Get the blame for something she did
15. Side with her when she's completely wrong and fight her battle

First time to DisneyWorld?
Q. My wife and I are planning to take our 3 year old son to WDW next fall. This is our first trip there and we are kind of overwhelmed as to what packages we need to consider. We won't be going to more than 1 park a day, so we have almost completely ruled out the Hopper. Where should we look for discounts? What are some ideas as to how to save $. We live outside of Pensacola, so it will be about a 7 hour drive.

A. With a 3 year old I can understand not wanting to do a hopper. As the family gets older know it is a fun must. :)

As far as your quesiton you want to stay on property. Forget the fact that people say outside hotels are cheaper and have shuttles. Know you can pay the exact same if not cheaper on property and the shuttles they offer only run specific times. We have gotten Value Resort rooms for as low as $63 a night during the off season... no safe nice place off property can offer that. Not to mention if you drive it is about $14 a day to park at the parks. By staying on property you will not have to worry about that and plenty of modes of transportation to get you to and from the parks, resorts and Downtown Disney.

Depending on how much your family eats the only other thing you might want to look into is the meal plan. I would either go with the Quick Serve plan or the One Snack, One Quick Serve and one Sit Down a day. Can be a fun way to enjoy the parks even more and eat at some great places. I am sure your 3yr old would not enjoy the fancy sit down places but you can use those credits on Character Meals which I know they would love.

Another perk to staying on property is you do not have to carry your gifts around. If you want to buy something in the parks or downtown disney you can have it taken back to your resort for free. Can make a great way to sneek birthday or holiday gifts without your child knowning.

Overall though, stay on property, adds for extra magic you wont want to miss out on. Also be flexible on when you can go, if you can skip peak times you can save hundreds of dollars. Be sure to book through Disney too.
