"I was in a dilemma .. My boss asked me to find a gift basket for his mother for her birthday...he didn't give me much time to get it done. I was in a panic. Somehow, I found San Francisco Gift Baskets. Not only did she get the job done, but the basket was the most beautiful I had ever seen. My boss told me that his Mother can't stop talking about how unique and perfect that basket was for her! You just can't get too many compliments from your boss.... and I can't compliment Mitra enough for her great business. Thanks Mitra."

"Now 5 years in the running Mitra and her staff continue their superior service and product offering to the companies in our building. As Corporate Concierge in the financial district I rely on San Francisco Gift Baskets to create and deliver themed gift baskets for a number of tenant occasions. Mitra is adept at customizing orders, reliable with a 'can do' attitude and 'wows' us with her presentation and thoughtfulness. You will find your choice in SF Gift Baskets brings you many happy returns, over and over."

"I needed 3 gifts to give to my bf's aunties for Christmas. We were coming down to the wire...a few days before Christmas and we still didn't have any idea of what to get them. Nothing too small or nothing too big. So we decided on some nice gift baskets with goodies like chocolates, nuts, and other snacks. I called SF Gift Basket and they came to our rescue. I told them my price range and told them to use their skill & creativity to create something nice for each of them for the holidays. The next day, my gift baskets were delivered as promised....so beautiful and perfect for the occassion. Love their baskets!"

-She is into a lot of small time bands and different kinds of music.
-She likes going wine tasting.
-She is into independent and foreign films.
-She loves fashion (especially shoes).
-She loves trying different types of food and experiencing different cultures.
-She is very worldly and in tune with global news.
-She is feminine and girly.

Answer
Beauty and Spa Gift Basket
You can purchase this or make one for her. choose a large basket to be filled and line it with a soft bath towel or other linen product. Fill the basket with beauty and spa products such as makeup, soap and face wash, a face mask, perfume or body spray, body lotion, bubble baths, bath salts and a loofah.

Scented Candles
There is a wide range of candles to choose from with nice candle holders and tealights. Aromatherapy candles are a great option to help her unwind and relax after a long day. Candles come in any scent you can imagine, so choose the one your aunt would appreciate the most.

Answer
You can try going to some kind of headshop, or place in the mall, spencer like, and getting some strobe lights or black lights and a set that goes with it, and giving it to her. Shouldn't dig a hole though, in case you can't find a way to cover it up :p

Any interesting gift ideas for a guy who likes parkour and is studying to become a teacher?

Caroline

My friend is in his early 20s, is going to teachers college this fall, loves parkour, games like Diablo 3 and League of Legends, and is very active physically. Any ideas? I'm tapped out.

Answer
*Cheap*: New nice pair of sweats. Trust me.
*Pretty nice*: One of those little jogger things that holds your iPod OR some running headphones
*Nice*: Pair of running shoes. With parkour, you want not too much padding, some pretty good grip, and flexibility. Also, light. And the sole shouldn't be in a bunch of pieces. In should be like one sole. Whole sole.
*"Happy birthday, honey!"*: Take that man to somewhere nice for parkour. Santa Cruz, San Francisco, or even the Tempest Freerunning Academy.

So my regular plan was san francisco this weekend. But my parents dont have enough money.
Now im stuck trying to find something to do around sacramento.
What are some good ideas?

Answer
For your birthday you don't really need to spend much to have a great time. Try to have it in a skating rink or golf course. You could also have it in an arcade if you and your friends like to play games. Just be sure you have enough snacks and drinks for everyone. Start telling your friends and family the type of gifts you want now so they can buy them in time. If you need gift ideas you should check out this page. It has gifts specifically for teens http://www.giftgrease.com/teengifts.html You could also ask for a Ribbon e-gift card. It is a new type of gift that allows you to actually pick the gift you want online and it will be shipped to you for free.. It has alot brand-named merchandise that you will like. Here are the different types of cards you can ask for. http://www.giftgrease.com/ribbon-e-gift-cards.html I know birthdays are not all about gifts but it really makes things alot more memorable. Hope this helps.

What should I do for a 12 year olds birthday?

Alex

she wants to go to a teen club but I don't think their gonna let her and her friends in, but in new York. any of you guys know any teen clubs I can get her and her friends into?
we already did a house party last summer. but something different slumber parties is a really good idea i might take that one..but still waiting for new answers

Answer
No, I agree that the teen clubs would probably be strict about age. Will have to put that one on hold until she turns 13. Here are some other ideas...
1. Check the rec. dept. to see if they have any middle school dances this summer. Could do that, then come home for cake & ice cream. Ask them, too, about Teen Night at a swimming pool & about age restrictions. Could see if a city pool is open to a private party on other nights. You'd probably have to hire a DJ, though.
2. See if there are any restaurants with bars & karaoke nights that allow teens.
3. A slumber party with karaoke might be possible at home. A couple I know used to run the karaoke at one of those bars & also did private parties, bringing in all the equipment. Depends on the sound level & how your neighbors would react. Also, I think they primarily used oldies as music, & these might be totally unfamiliar music to 12-yr-olds. Would be great if reggae or hip hop can be is available for karaoke.
4. Some pizza places offer a free party room if you have 20 or more people. That's what I did for my 50th birthday. Could eat, have a sing-along & a game or two while waiting for the food, then have the cake, which I brought. They set up the cake table & provided dessert plates & clean forks.
5. If it's just something different that they want, & if you have any Indian restaurants nearby, some of them may have an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, like 11:30-2 pm. Call around & find out or check the ads.
6. One organization that I was in used a Nepalese restaurant several times for private parties. They were closed on Sundays, but fixed a buffet for us & let us use it for Sunday noon-2 with a minimum of 20 people. On one Saturday night, they were open but set up a long skinny table for about 20 of us & for some reason, did a buffet that night, even though it was usually only for the lunch hour. I was in charge one time & made an appointment to meet with the manager in advance & arranged it for a Sunday noon. It was difficult talking to the employees to find out when the manager would be in. He knew fluent English, but his employees knew very little. (just a warning) We had an interesting conversation & made our arrangements.
7. Other types of inexpensive all-you-can-eat-buffet restaurants may also have party rooms. (My mother had a family reunion in one of those.) Can probably eat the ice cream & desserts included with the meal, adding a candle to your daughter's serving, rather than bringing in your own cake.
8. A skating rink may have a party room for rent, too. There may be a d.j. who will announce the birthday or take requests for special songs, but I don't know.
9. There may be a covered area (gazebo) in a park for picnics that can be reserved for rent. Probably books up well in advance & might be expensive.
10. Could have a movie party at home...sandwiches or pizza, veggie & chips tray with hummus dip, popcorn, cake & ice cream, & beverage. Can buy those clear plastic wine glasses & serve mineral water, both plain & flavored, & serve it in wine glasses. Sparkling apple cider can also be used in wine glasses.
11. Might have an ice cream party at home with pink & white striped decor. If there's a commercial ice cream shop, they might have a party room or the whole ice cream parlor might be open to a private party when they're closed.
12. A coffee house might be open to her age group & have poetry night, some with poetry set to guitar music. Would want to know what they have other than coffee, such as soft drinks or herb tea.
13. Sometimes an animal shelter will have a room that they offer as a party room & will give a guided tour of the facilities. Guests can be asked to bring gifts to the animals from a suggested list. (toys, blankets, towels, pet food, etc.)
14. A neighbor of mine whose daughter was once that age took a station wagon full of girls down to China Town in San Francisco once for poking around in the shops & to eat Chinese food. With the size of The City, it might have been an overwhelming task to decide on sights to see, but by focusing on a small area, they were able to have a good time in a manageable way. There may have been only about 4 girls, which doesn't sound too bad for a parent.
15.Could take about 3 girls & your daughter to see a live musical on stage, & that wouldn't be too bad in terms of prices & supervision.

I don't know if when you say New York if you mean NYC or somewhere in the state. Maybe there will be something here that will be possible that she will like. I've never been there, so I don't know.

Ideas for a surprise adventure birthday trip?

meowser

Help! I am trying to figure out what I can give my husband for his birthday and running out of ideas. He loves travel/hiking/backpacking/mountain biking. We live in San Francisco. It has to be under $500. He also loves technology and photography. I am thinking - some sort of surprise weekend adventure trip. If you have any ideas, please chime in! Thanks!

Answer
If he likes hiking/mountain biking all that sorts why dont you get him a really nice gift and plan somewhere that he likes to hike and create a sort of search like you hide the item that you got him for his birthday and you create a map and then he has to go find it either that or a scavenger hunt. Idk sound like good cheesy ideas to get him out and about where he likes to be. good luck
