Gift ideas for....??

Q. my wife.. she is turning 30 and freaking out! We have been married 8 yrs and I've never seen her this way. She is really so much sexier now then she was when we met in college. She's had 2 children and is very HOT!! But she thinks she is fat and ugly and now she thinks she's old... argh!! It's a good thing I love her so much LOL. I need some ideas for something really awesome to get her for her birthday. I'm not a good shopper and I know she's diappointed with what I buy. I am planning to take her for the weekend to a bed and breakfast and go back sunday to a surprise party thrown by her sisters.

ANY ideas!!! Pleeeeease!!!!

POLL: Best gift you've ever received and from whom?

Answer
30 is a big birthday. flowers. jewelry is always nice. if she doesn't like it she could exchange it. lots of women enjoy going to the spa for a day of pampering. you could get her a gift certificate to a spa. if i think of more i will come back and add them!

its so sweet that you love your wife so much!! you seem like a nice guy, i'm sure she will be happy with whatever you get her.

poll- (i thought about asking this same question earlier!) best gift i gave was an expensive set of cookware to my (now husband) boyfriend. he loved it! he does the cooking, and makes the best meals ever.

oh i thought it said gave, the best i ever received... a car from my parents. or my engagement ring, if that counts.

suggest some homemade gifts wich i can give my bf on birthday!?

:)

my bf's bday is jst 2 weeks ahead nd i cant go out to buy any gifts for him either!
can u guys suggest some good home made birthday gifts!
pls do help !

Answer
no idea for presents. 1) give u as present, if u r not virgin, of course. i dont know how old r u. if r under 18 or 21, forgot about.
2) cook something fro he in a heart form! anything is ok. sweet or salt thing like if he like meat, make a meat cake in heart form...dont need be a lunch or dinner. if u r bad cooker, ask to someone do for u or help u like ur friend or mum, anyone!...
3) u can give present later or when u can saying, i love u, im sorry but im out of money. he understand u and feelings and intentions r better then anything.
4) u can try one day or part time job if u r teenager only to get some money to buy he a present till his birthday if really u want to give something for he!
5) u can buy tickets for a game or concerts some he like if u have money for and give to he before birthday or after birthday. just say: its ur birthday present from me, for us or for he.
birthday: just special moment, day, love, attention,...dont need present if u cannt. just stay together and feelings its ok.
6) guys perfum, special underwear for guys,...its ok too. or training hard a special dancing for he after party! or before party. oh, I dont know! or a single black flower, only one its ok. u can take a flower, and print ur self: put in water with black color something the flower cable. then when this come inside to the flower, turn black! then pack to present. take one flower, simple flower. stole one from public garden or public montain hehe, just once is ok if u dont have money. and print black. become nice. guys often stole flowers to give to a girls! u can do too... but dont let anyone see u! if u take from the mountain or ur house or from a friend or ant house...its ok too! but do a test before! p.s.: some flower stores sell black flowers printed and can be more cheap becuase there them already provide free present pack and u dont need buy black colors to turn the flower black if u dont have it at ur house! so, check before! flowers r good to any occasion: party, birthday, die, guys, girls,...so, its a good present and between couple too!like boyfriend-girlfriend,...friends,...adopt flowers for everything! less if he is allergic to flowers! so, ask if he is allergic to something or not!p.s.ps.: paint the flower, not print! wrong word because im not english speaker!

i need ideas for a birthday gift for my mom for $10 and under?

Y

thanx for ur suggestions in advance
dont ask me why i am spending 10 dollars, mind ur own business, unless u hav suggestions for gifts 10 dollars and under

Answer
Let me do some research on this question, and I'll get back to you. That's if her birthday isn't immediately. Would really like to offer up some worthwhile suggestions. It might also help if in your comments section you'd post some of her interests and preferences. This will help people narrow their responses.

I've only done all little research out this point but will continue over the next couple of days. That is unless like prefaced above your mom's birthday occurs before.

In last five minutes, I've located two possible sites for you review:

novelgiftbaskets.com
theparagon.com

I've never used these services myself, so I cannot recommend or give a thumbs down to them. Scanned and it looks like the first one may or may not carry gifts 10.00 and under anymore. May have to do some research on your own.
The second site has discounted items under ten, but I can't vouch for quality, do not know shipping and handling, etc....

Still these are definitely worth check out.

Here are some other suggestions:

1. Go to a discount such as Wal-Mart, Target, etc... probably in your area and purchase one of the following items for ten or under:

(A) a good paperback novel= usually run between 5.99-7.99
(B) a discounted DVD; within this selection you may be able to find one of her favorite movies= 5.50- 9.88
(C) A Journal or some stationery with a pen= right at ten or a little over

2. Create a custom CD with roughly ten songs at either wal-mart. com running about 10.50 with tax or create one yourself = about 8.00 or less for the blank CD's

3. Purchase a photo album: Create a montage from older pictures, favorite sayings and quotes, etc... Again this may or may run a little over. Will also probably take a little more time but is well worth effort/

4. A gift card in this amount. If her birthday is one or two months away, you can add $10.00 every month. Not as personal as three but just as nice.

5. Also. try Christianbookdistributors.com; they sale many items at clearance prices or discount. One of my favorite sites.

I'll add a little more if I get a chance. Good luck in finding the best gift for your mom. I understand that prices these days are astronomical and living on a budget makes it harder. Rest assured though that you'll find just the right gift. It's not about cost, it's about the love you have for your mom and wanting to commemorate her speicial day. She'll appreciate that more than anything. Hope all goes well. I'll check back.

God bless.

What are some great birthday ideas for a 6 yr. old boy?

Dianne G

And what fun things to do at the birthday party...need some ideas.

Answer
Hi: I raised three kids, two girls and one boy. I gave my kids bday parties until age 11- or 12. some fun things for boy parties; think of a theme. Your 6 year old has a favorite sport, cartoon or interest area. Educational themes, verses commercial themes were a favorite of mine. A dollar store or party store in your home town can also be an idea builder. Little boys almost always like dinosausors. For example sake, lets use dinosauors. Plan several activities to keep the party moving. Set a time limit, an hour and a half with 6 little boys can be exhausting, (unless it is like a family barbacue also). Plan an agenda, and it will help you and the kids have a good time. Start the party with an opening activity: free play: in a yard or park with swing set is nice, or playdough at a table, if you must be inside. Once all the guests have arrived get the party going with the first group activity. Kids this age ususally know the drill with what to expect with party games. I was amazed that my 13 year old daughter still wanted to play "drop the clothes pins" in the jar at her bday party. Then move to the next game, toss across, pin the tail on the dinosaur (they seem to love the blind fold), freeze tag. ASk your six year old to help plan his favorite games. Play 3 games then move to the song, blow out the candels, cake and ice cream. 6 yr. old boys are active so cake can turn into a food fight, so keep this short. If they are playing in it, its time for clean up. if you are out side a bucket full of water and paper towell can be a quick fix for sticky hands.
Then move to another game, since they have an overwhellming amount of energy, try an active game of tag, or short 2 on two races, or let them play if they are at the park or back yard. Boys love squirt guns in the summer. Use caution, it seems that there is always one kid in the bunch that is too rough, and someone gets hurt. Kids this age are conditioned to a school bell ringing, so ringing a bell can be very effective when it is time to change activities. Also, a good way to get kids attention is to tell them something like, "I need your eyes up here", or "let me see your eyes". It is a good idea to always communicate 100 times; what the next activity will be, what the plan is, and what you want in behavior, (ie: I want everyone sitting down for cake) Name tags can help tremendously call kids by name. Compliment the kids that are corroperating. (ie: suzie is sitting nicely and ready for cake).Open the gifts if you think the boys can hang in there with a sitting down time. If they are too active, it can be alot to ask little boys to sit still while someone else gets toys. If you are inside, think about having some legos, books, available for the fitgeting ones to have something quiet to do in the back of the room. Let the bday boy give the goody bags as the kids leave. It is a good way to get out of any complaining from kids, (ie: hey, its not fair they have a bigger bag than I do)

Birthday gift ideas for an 18 year old girl?

Q. I get to go to an 18th birthday party. Woo?

I met her in my musical theater class, and we've been fairly good friends :) I'm not super close to her, but my best friend is her best friend, if that makes sense. We talk, but we're not like BESTIESSS. So yeah, idk what to get her.

She'll be going off to college later this month and will be staying in the dorms, and she plans to major in musical theater.

She's girly, but doesn't really wear makeup. Actually I probably wouldn't gift makeup cuhs it's so personal. She's got plenty of clothes; she sews her own because she's that freakin cool.

She likes owls :P

She likes Snow White :P

I don't really have too much money, but a DIY project would be cool. Or y'know, whatever. Feed me your ideas.

I'M REALLY NOT GOOD AT THIS LOL. Please help me.

Birthday Gift Ideas for best frienddd?

A$AP

Okay well my friend is turning 17 and I was wondering what can be some ideas to give her?

I was thinking of getting her a poster of her favorite singer & chocolate because she likes chocolate & then I have no idea what to give her then because I don't feel as if that is enough.... Any ideas?
She likes music and food basically lol

Thanks :)

Answer
My best friend's birthday is coming up too. I basically made a sort of DIY thing where I buy all of these separate materials and put them together. I got a cheap basket with a handle, candles, some hot chocolate, biscuits, and tea. I basically just put everything in the basket, so it looks like one of those fancy gift baskets you get for 20 dollars. It was pretty cheap too.(Yay) Then, I decorated the basket with ribbons and everything, it looks pretty nice. :) And the great thing is, is that you can put anything you want in the basket. So you said your friend likes food? Box of chocolates, cookies, crackers, anything!

Hope this helps, good luck! :)

Can you Please Help? Gift Ideas for an amazing Japanese Woman?

jonah-hill

Not long I met a Japanese girl who is pretty amazing, and she sent me an Electric Hand Warmer Gift for my Birthday, it must of cost her £40-£50 including postage from Japan to UK.
So it is her Birthday Next week and I cannot think of any ideas on what to get her, she is somewhat a perfectionist and I am struggling to find anything good for her. I don't want to get her perfume, clothes or jewelry because I don't know her well enough to know what she likes and these things are more personal in my eyes and easy to get wrong.
So how can I match the present she got for me?
I know she loves things that involve massage, aromatherapy and she loves her high end skin care, but I cannot find anythings suitable for her. I am worried incase I get her the wrong thing. Any Ideas?
£30-£50 gifts

Answer
Next week? I doubt if your package can make it.
Anyway, give her cute fashion accessories like bags. Many Japanese women are obsessed in designer bags. Try asking help from your sister or female friends.
Or skin care products but beware, I usually don't give skin care products because we don't know if she's allergic to certain kinds.

Ideas for my wife's 40th Birthday?

Q. I already have some ideas, and I want to do something extravegant...all out...like a trip to northern California wine country, but maybe something local too, so more of her friends can share the time...

Any ideas?

Answer
The best way to give your wife a special gift or go all out is to really listen to her about what she likes to do. If she really loves wine and California why not? There could be a local wine tasting in your area that would be just are special, if you are tuned into her needs and desires. Most of all make the Birthday all about her. Not focusing on her age either. Most women do not like to be reminded they are getting older. Focus in on her best features, qualities, attributes and what you love her the most about.

Birthday Gift Ideas for my Female Friend?

Gift ideas for my Best Friend [Female]?

Alex

I'm a Guy, and my BF's Birthday is coming up and the problem is I'm currently between jobs so I can't spend alot of money. I was hoping for any suggestions that a girl might like on her B-day. Something made perhaps?

[I originally had an idea to actually make her a Cake, like a full blown one, as there's an inside joke we share with her and food. I don't want to do that only cause I know that she'll get a cake from her family anyways, so it'd be almost pointless]
I've also planned on including a Birthday LETTER instead of a card. So far its just over 2 pages long, and it just details how I've saw her over the years and how much she means to me as a great friend. I just wanna know what i should get (or make) her for a main gift....

Answer
you can write her a really sweet poem telling her what a great friend she is and how much she means to you..

build her something?jewelryy case perhaps?

make her a photo album or collage

take her on a pinic.

cook her lunch/ dinner / breakfast

maker her a CD

or buy a cheap mp3 player and put all her favorite songs in there

hope that helps.!

Birthday gift?

zotomt

I'm a sophomore in high school. My girlfriend is a freshman. And I was wondering what I should get her.
Few important things:
She's the more "sensitive" type; laid back, not-so-aggressive.
She always has a twin sister next to her, so I probably get her something too.
We've been going out for 2 months.
I get somewhat anti-social (if that matters with anything) in front of her.

Naturally, I want to get her something that will make her really happy.
Any ideas?

Answer
Found this, Should be helpful:

Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Active Aries is always looking for ways to stay in shape, particularly during the holiday season... so athletic equipment is usually a good choice. People born under this sign are also fond of the color red, so a cranberry scarf or a scarlet hat could win their favor. If romance is in the air, let Aries know that you put his or her needs first. Buy tickets for two to a sporting event you loathe... or a CD by an artist you can't stand... to win big points with your favorite Ram.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus appreciates any gift that appeals to his or her sensual side. A box of gourmet chocolates, a richly colored tapestry or a soft cashmere blanket are all great options for Bulls. This sign also enjoys having money to play with, so a gift certificate to their favorite store is a welcome option. Always remember that quality is more important than quantity â Taurus would rather have a small bottle of expensive cologne than a carafe of the cheap stuff.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Quick-witted Geminis enjoys gifts that appeal to their sizable intellects. A challenging book is always welcome, as is a magazine subscription. This sign rules the hands, so some scented hand lotion or a sparkling ring might delight. Geminis also love to entertain, so a set of glassware might fit the bill. If you want to splurge on a special Twin, give them the latest cell phone or PDA, so they can keep in touch with their gazillion friends.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Sentimental Cancer loves gifts that have personal meaning. Handmade items always delight, whether it's a finger painting, angora sweater or mincemeat pie. This sign also has a special affinity for silver â a monogrammed hand mirror or picture frame would be very well received. Since Crabs have an affinity for liquids of all kinds, a special bottle of wine, a fancy cappuccino maker or a shiny tea kettle are also good possibilities. And don't forget that these Moon children love the domestic arts â a cookbook specializing in comfort food is another sure winner.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Lions love gifts that make them look and feel terrific. Hair accessories, cosmetics and grooming items are all good choices for this image-conscious sign. Leos love drama, and enjoy presents that involve a bit of flair. Opera tickets, gold jewelry or animal print lingerie are right up this cat's alley. Leos also love to gamble, so a sheaf of lottery tickets or a weekend getaway to the casino could make them purr with delight. When shopping for clothing, remember that Lions have a special affinity for red, gold and purple.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgins love practical gifts...so avoid dust-catching baubles. A bread-making machine or a power drill would be equally welcome. These folks are also known to pride themselves on their impeccable appearance. Scented soaps, lotions and shampoos made by an earth-friendly company might be just the ticket. Virgos are also incredibly organized and might appreciate a good watch or a leather-bound date book. Or try a health-conscious basket of organic foodstuffs.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Librans have a special affinity for music, and always appreciate a good CD to add to their voluminous collection. If you want to do something really special for a Libran friend, splurge on a two concert tickets â this sign hates to do anything alone. Born beneath the sign of the scales, they also need plenty of balance in their lives, so a pair of candlesticks or bookends might appeal. If you're still stumped for ideas, have a lavish bouquet of red roses delivered accompanied by a loving handwritten note.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpions are secretive by nature and enjoy gifts that obscure their appearance in some way. A pair of designer sunglasses, a filmy scarf or a slouchy hat are all great choices for this sign. These mystery-lovers also enjoy moody, atmospheric stories. A collection of film noirs on DVD are sure to go over well with your favorite Scorpion. The rumors concerning this sign's sexual appetite are happily true, so seductive lingerie would get plenty of use. Since Scorpions also like to get beneath the surface; a gift certificate for a deep-cleansing facial will be appreciated.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
As far as Archers are concerned, half the fun of getting gifts is ripping them open! If Sag doesn't like a present, though, he or she will tell you outright. Avoid awkward scenes this holiday season by giving this outdoor enthusiast some camping equipment. Hiking boots or a water-proof parka would also be appropriate. These animal lovers adore any gift associated with their pets. A calendar filled with pictures of dogs or horses is sure to elicit a big smile. Finally, you can always feed this sign's wanderlust with a comprehensive atlas.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Career-oriented Capricorn always enjoys gifts that will boost their job status. A leather laptop carrier or monogrammed briefcase would be welcome. Contrary to popular belief, though, Goats aren't all work and no play. This sign is blessed with a wicked sense of humor, so try the BBC's "The Office" series on DVD. Capricorns also love luxurious presents they'd never buy for themselves, like a silk bathrobe.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
You never know what this unpredictable sign will be doing from moment to moment â one week it's skydiving and the next it's yoga! Still, this quirky sign always appreciates technological gadgets, whether it's an all-region DVD player or an iPod Nano. If you'd like to choose something a little more personal, why not make a photo album detailing all of your exploits with the Water-Bearer? Aquarius may not show it, but they harbor a special fondness for their friends. Still stumped for ideas? A basket filled with brand new socks is both weird and practical enough for this sign, which rules the ankles.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
These mystics love gifts of all kinds, but especially ones that help them escape the harsh realities of life. A bottle of champagne, a kaleidoscope or a book of fairy tales will appeal to your Fishy friends. And because Pisces is a Water sign, it's a good bet they'll appreciate bath salts, foaming cleansers and shower gels. If you'd like to give something really special, a digital camera will make a bit hit with this natural-born photographer. Looking for a romantic gift? Choose a gilt-edged volume of love poetry.

Cheers!

Does anyone have any good creative ideas for a birthday present for a boyfriend? He's turning 26 yrs old this year (in case that matters). I know he loves the Michigan Wolverines. He likes baseball. He likes to golf. He's a certified chef. He wants to be a cop. His mom spoils him so he's got practically everything he'd ever need! Which is why I'm having such a difficult time coming up with something. Nothing rude please. Genuine, well-thought out ideas only. Thanks.
I've also been to Gifts.com and Findgift.com and all the other sites that pull up under "gift ideas" in Google for the past two weeks. *sigh* I couldn't find anything that would be useful to him on either of those sites. :(

Answer
ok maybe since you said he likes golf 9depending on how wealthy you are, not to be rude though) maybe a new set of golf clubs or some golf clothes or new golf balls or tees, soemthing liek that. This might be a little bit wierd but maybe you could get him a new set of knives beacsue you said that he lieks to work in the kitchen and is a chef so a new set of knives would be nice for liek cutting up vegitables or soemthing. umm.....maaybe if you took him on a boat kinda thing liek for dinner if hes the romantic kind of type and likes to do that. no matter what you do for him hell probablly love, its the thought that counts. GOOD LUCK!!

Boyfriend Birthday Gift HELP?!?

who me?

i dont know what to get him. i wanna steer clear of typical stuff he usually gets for bday and holidays.

For instance he likes converse all stars but he has all the colors he likes plus i jus bought him a pair of those

He also loves loves loves his Steelers but his ex, sisters, and mom got/get him alot of Steelers paraphernalia.

I thought about getting him tickets to a steelers came however i am a college student so unless i can find some decent priced tickets (around $100ish for 2) i dont think i can do that.

Keep in mind i am a college student, therefore dont have a lot of money and also live on campus (no kitchen - so no cooking romantic meals), and i dont have a car or drive.

So any ideas?????
well i already clean up after him a lot so that wouldnt be special

we play around wit sex regularly so again that wouldnt be anything new for his bday

How do I throw a 30th Birthday Party for my single friend?

Help me ou

My single girlfriend is turn 30 this year. Does anyone have an clever ideas for decorations or a theme?

Answer
I'm single and also turning 30 this year. Hey, maybe you're my friend and this party is for me! ha! just kidding... ;)

If she's anything like me, and dreads turning 30, the last thing I want is to have people rubbing my new age-bracket in my face. Who wants to be reminded of how old they are getting when they're still single? So forego any "Over-the-Hill" type of decorations, or anything referring to "Old Maid" (I absolutely HATE that term!!!) Here are some parties that she may like:

-Honestly, I think a dinner party with her closest friends would be the best. Make reservations at her favorite restaurant and make a fun night of it. Take pictures!
-If she hates the thought of turning 30, do a "Happy 1st Anniversary of turning 29" party. Have 29 pink candles and 1 white candle decorating a white-frosted cake.
-Decorate the party like the 70's since that was the year she was born and have everyone wear 70's attire and play 70's music. Have 70's style posters decorating the room and maybe a history board of pictures of her growing through the years.
-Or if she's a fan of the 80's, throw an 80's style party, same idea as the 70's version...
-Or perhaps if she's a movie buff, have a party of "Big Movie Hits of the Last Three Decades". Have everyone dress up as their favorite movie character over the last 30 years.
-Maybe have people bring inexpensive gifts in thirty's. Thirty candy bars, thirty birthday cards about turning 30, a mixed CD with 30 songs on it, etc. Let your guests be the creative ones too.
-Murder mystery parties are awesome.
-Perhaps if you and her close friends can afford it, go on a road trip somewhere and celebrate. Vegas, Atlantic City, etc.

I don't suggest strippers or strip clubs. To me, that's fun in your early 20's. Turning 30 is a big step and the party shouldn't be reduced to something silly, unless she would like that...? *shrug*

***The most important part: Whatever you decide to do, invite men and women. If any of your guests have any potentional, great single men, bring them along! The more the single men, the merrier, right? ;)

Good luck! I'm sure she (and everyone else) will have a blast! And how thoughtful of you to do this for her! :)

Birthday gift ideas PLEASE!!?

Help! I'm so stumped on what to get my Man this year for his Birthday. He turned 30 today, and we have been together for almost 4 years. We have a 6 month old daughter, and we are suuuuuper happy. He's a typical Jock, and he's completely infatuated with sports. Hockey, Football, Baseball, and Rugby, to name the most important to him. People always buy him sports stuff, and now it just sits in our closet. So I don't want to get any of that for him. I also made him a special album of the baby for Christmas, and a framed collage of the baby also. He doesn't like fancy dinners. I bought him a ton of clothes for Christmas also. He already has Jewelry from me. We are fortunate enough to be able to go out and buy the things we want and need, on our own, so he doesn't really NEED anything. He's a sentimental guy, so its not about the money that I spend. But I'm just so puzzled about what to get!! Its a big year, 30, and I want it to be memorable. What do I do???? Lol I appreciate your suggestions :)

Answer
I think you should take him out to a nice romantic restaurantvor planned to have a romantic dinner with flower wine and romantic music follow with a romantic bath with bubble champagne candle and rose petals and music.then find him a something you know he might like

birthday gift ideas for my pregnant friend!?

she'll be having her baby boy any time between now and the middle of August, her birthday is in 10 days.
what can i get her? i was thinking of a baby photo album, but then what can i get her when she has her baby!?

when you where pregnant what would you have liked for a gift? a nice relaxing bath set? chocolate?

she has everything she needs for the baby and everything else she may need for anything!

any ideas would be amazing thanx!

Answer
I'm 8mths with my second baby, and I can tell ya that any form of treat/snack is definitely a good start! lol.. but seriously..

an outfit she'd adore and be able to wear after the baby is born
bath gift sets are wonderful, I just got one myself and it makes being pregnant and uncomfortable far more relaxing.
anything ultimately feminine would do the trick

Sweet gift ideas for my husbands birthday that are free?

ProudWifeA

My husbands birthday is on the 11th and I already maxed out my credit card for Christmas. I dont want him to end up paying for his own gift (he is the primary money maker) and he knows I dont have much money of my own. He told me not to worry about it but I would like to do something sweet for him. I have a couple small ideas but Im wondering what you all think. Hes a real mans man. Hes not sensitive enough to enjoy a poem or anything, although I may result to that. Any ideas at all? BTW, I am 4 months pregnant, if that helps with sweet ideas. :) Thanks!

Answer
If hes a mans man then perfect idea for a gift to make him feel special on his bday :
Steak and potato dinner (with your kind of flair still use candles and a few flowers from your garden(fake ones help to)and maybe even put up a homemade happy birthday banner)
Favorite cake all for him
Make the evening all about him - look up if there are any of his favorite teams playing whatever sports he likes or favorite TV shows and sit and watch with him.

My husband's 23rd birthday is on the 21st of January and I have NO clue what to do for him. He's not exactly a "manly man" haha. He doesn't really have any hobbies either. We live in North Carolina and I would like to do something for him and maybe take him somewhere.

Birthday Gift Idea for Husband?

Liams

Need suggestions on gift ideas for my husbands 27 birthday. He never asks for anything!! He is so difficult to buy for. He likes everything including microbrews, gold, watches, sports, gadgets, etc Ten points most informative with helpful suggestions. Thanks!

Answer
If he is into gadgets there are sooo many fun stuff like that. I don't know what your husband is into, let say he likes golf, just google Golf gadgets (or accessories) and you will find so many fun and cool stuff.

My husband is also so hard to buy for, unless you have unlimited money, but this year for christmas I'm going to turn his late fathers old reel-to-reel tapes to CDs which I think he is really going to love.
Then I'm going to buy some fun books and games as smaller gifts to add it all up.

Don't forget that instead of a gift, you can give away an "experience". Maybe a small trip somewhere, a concert or a date night with dinner, hotel and all that. Good luck!

Too soon for a birthday gift?

Temp

Ok, so I recently met this girl at a concert and we hit it off. We live like 200 miles apart to begin with and I'm moving halfway across the country soon (I'm in the military) but I plan on visiting home and I mentioned visiting her next month and she liked the idea. We both like each other but haven't necessarily talked about "dating" or anything, I'm happy with taking it slow like we have been. We talk or text on the phone just about every night. Anyways, her birthday is coming up and I was gonna order flowers for her. Is this too soon to send someone flowers on their birthday especially since we're not exactly dating? She's 27, I'm 25. Thanks for your input.

Answer
Flowers would be ok, just don't over do it. A sweet small bunch.. good luck

Help! It's my mom's birthday soon and I'm stuck across the world...?

tenshixlan

My mom's over in the states and I'm stuck over in Korea, in the army and I can't get back until about 2 months later. I was thinking about ordering flowers for her, specifically pink roses which apparently suggest happiness and fun as well as admiration and appreciation. Otherwise, I don't know what I can get her. Plus, being in the Korean army, my budget's kind of pathetic. Anyone have any ideas and/or input on the flowers? Oh, and she's turning 52 this year.

Answer
Honey its not how much something costs that has any relevance especially to a mother, its the thought and love behind the object you give them, so pink roses would be lovely, but more so because your so many thousands of miles apart, so would a card mean the world to her, but the thing here is - its what you write in that card that could make the card itself a priceless gift to her you see. Words to the effect of how you wish you were not so many thousands miles apart especially on this her special day and just how much you love her and how important she is to you. Believe me she would keep that card forever and treasure it.

I don't know what the postage system is like going from Korea to the states, but if its reasonable I think something like a ' delicate looking paperweight ' would be a beautiful present to give. One of very soft colors like pink, but one that has something feminine about it. But remember the card and what you write in it - we mothers are very sentimental creatures especially when it comes to our children, grown up or not, you will always be her baby son. Perhaps on your return you could take her out on her own for a birthday meal on account of the miles of separation right now between you.

Could you get to a phone to wish her Happy Birthday? that would be lovely for both of you.

birthday gift ideas for...?

watsuper

my little god sister? she just turned 12 and i only got her a shirt and a card. This is pretty crappy, im sure, to the rest of her gifts she's probably going to get or already got. my budget is $0-$30. any gifts she might like???

Answer
I don't know what the cost of things is where you live... but I got my friends daughter a manicure at a salon in town for her birthday. At the age of 12 they are just starting to find beauty things interesting, or fun. That will make her feel "grown" and special! Even better, on the card say a date a the spa, and take her to lunch before or after!
Also, Itunes is pretty much a no fail at that age.
Take her to the movie place and have a movie night with her. The idea of a gift that involves both of you will be way more meaningful to her and memorable to her that any expensive gifts she may get.
HAVE FUN!

Budgeting?

I am really tight on money right now and it seems as if EVERY MONTH something comes up-a kids fundraiser-birthday party-etc.etc. and I dont want my kids to miss out on the fun of the birthday party just because mom cant afford to buy an extravagant birthday gift. Any ideas on low priced gifts but are not cheap as in falling apart ? I feel bad being the cheap one at the birthday party but you kind of have to look out foryour kids first. FOOD ON THE TABLE.

Answer
It helps to shop for gifts a few times a year & stock up a bit in advance instead of waiting right before a party.

Use your experience from previous years to estimate your needs and keep a schedule of events.

Keep a list of gift ideas & an inventory of items you have.

1) Shop after Christmas sales & other after season sales to stock up on toys & other gifts.

2) Shop at scheduled sale events. Get on the mailing list & e-mail list of your favorite shops for notices & coupons.

For ex) Bath & Bodyworks has a twice yearly sale on lotions, shower gels, lip balms, etc. so you can stock up on gifts for girls. This store sometimes sends out e-mail coupons too.

The Body Shop has frequent promotions too.

Old Navy has clearance sales about every 3 months. Check the racks for purses, totes, jewelry, tee shirts, etc.

3) Check out local discounters like Tuesday Morning, Ross, etc. for toys. I've seen some great Lego sets, Barbie dolls & accessories @ really low prices @ Tuesday Morning.

Check the book sales racks @ Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc. I've seen some great craft kits, journals, and cute story books on those tables & racks.

4) Stick w/ more traditional toys like board games, Etch-A-Sketch, Play Doh sets, etc. These tend to be lower priced because they are classics and have to compete w/ more modern items like video games.

5) Try to think of gift sets you can create w/ items from discount retailers like Target.

For example, girls would like embellished hair pins, headbands & pony tail holders in a plastic case. You could include a styling brush, a compact mirror & some mini beauty products.

A boy might like a tee shirt w/ his favorite super hero & a few comic books.

As for fund raisers, find other ways to contribute or participate. (e.g. by volunteering to help w/ organization or help publicize the event)

Set a strict limit for the year & track what you spend. Don't feel bad about sticking to your limit either. Just politely decline if you must or if you cannot use anything being offered.

Try to limit your purchase to 1 item per fund raiser & make it a multi-purpose item. For example, buy a roll of gift wrap you can use for b-days and other special occasions.

Selling cookie dough is another typical fund raiser. You can buy 1 tub and then use it to bake cookies for a pot luck or school bake sale. You can make them special by adding sprinkles or drizzling some melted chocolate over them.

You can decide what you want to do for the year and set a policy for yourself. If you think money is going to be very tight - then do not buy anything from fund raisers & to be fair, do not sell anything for fund raisers @ the office. You don't have to explain yourself - just politely decline & know that you won't be imposing on anyone either. Or you can stick to the 1 item per fund raiser & only make a purchase if it's something you can use. Not every fund raiser is a good one.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate ANY holidays?

Emmy

Even minor ones, like Valentine's Day, Halloween, or St. Patrick's? My boyfriend was raised as a Jehovah's Witness til he was 11 (over 15 years ago), and whenever I get excited about a holiday (the most recent being Christmas), he never gets the least bit excited. He also thinks it's silly to dress up on Halloween and says Valentine's is too commercial. I used to wonder about all this but I remembered his Jehovah upbringing (he is not one anymore, hasn't been since he was a kid - he appalls the religion) and wondered if his upbringing has something to do with him being so against Valentine's and Halloween. He seemed okay spending Xmas with me, just wasn't giddy like me, which is understandable. What do Jehovah's Witnesses believe about holidays, even minor ones?

Answer
*** sj pp. 17-21 Holidays and Celebrations ***

Holidays and Celebrations
So if a holiday or a celebration is in some way linked to other gods or goddesses, or if observing it is contrary to our understanding of Biblical principles, we do not take part.

Birthdays: Enjoying a feast or a party and generous giving to loved ones are certainly not wrong. (Luke 15:22-25; Acts 20:35) Jehovahâs Witnesses enjoy giving gifts and having good times together throughout the year. However, the only two birthday celebrations mentioned in the Bible involved people who were not true believers. They were a Pharaoh of Egypt and the Roman ruler Herod Antipas, each of whose birthday celebrations had deadly results. (Genesis 40:18-22; Mark 6:21-28) So it is not surprising to see these historical references to the attitude of early Christians toward birthday celebrations:
âThe notion of a birthday festival was far from the ideas of the Christians of this period in general.ââThe History of the Christian Religion and Church, During the Three First Centuries (New York, 1848), by Augustus Neander (translated by Henry John Rose), page 190.
Of all the holy people in the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod) who make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born into this world below.ââThe Catholic Encyclopedia (New York, 1911), Volume X, page 709 (quoting Origen Adamantius of the third century).
Additionally, birthday celebrations tend to give excessive importance to an individual, no doubt one reason why early Christians shunned them. (Ecclesiastes 7:1) So you will find that Jehovahâs Witnesses do not share in birthday festivities (the parties, singing, gift giving, and so forth).

Christmas: As you are probably aware, December 25 was not the birthday of Jesus Christ. You may feel that this does not matterâthat the event is the important thing. But the way the Christmas holiday developed shows that there is more to it than that. The following encyclopedias explain:
âThe observance of Christmas is not of divine appointment, nor is it of N[ew] T[estament] origin. The day of Christâs birth cannot be ascertained from the N[ew] T[estament], or, indeed, from any other source. The fathers of the first three centuries do not speak of any special observance of the nativity.ââCyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature (Grand Rapids, Michigan, 1981 reprint), by John McClintock and James Strong, Volume II, page 276.
âMost of the Christmas customs now prevailing in Europe, or recorded from former times, are not genuine Christian customs, but heathen customs which have been absorbed or tolerated by the Church. . . . The Saturnalia in Rome provided the model for most of the merry customs of the Christmas time.ââEncyclopædia of Religion and Ethics (Edinburgh, 1911), edited by James Hastings, Volume III, pages 608, 609.
It is commonly known that Christmas was not originally a celebration of Christâs birth. U.S. Catholic of December 1981, page 32, notes: âIt is impossible to separate Christmas from its pagan origins.â The magazine explains:
âThe Romansâ favorite festival was Saturnalia, which began on December 17 and ended with the âbirthday of the unconquered sunâ (Natalis solis invicti) on December 25. Somewhere in the second quarter of the fourth century, savvy officials of the church of Rome decided December 25 would make a dandy day to celebrate the birthday of the âsun of righteousness.â Christmas was born.â
When learning these facts about Christmas, how have some been affected? The World Book Encyclopedia (1982) observes under âChristmasâ: âDuring the 1600âs . . . Christmas was outlawed in England and in parts of the English colonies in America.â Since people in the past refused to celebrate Christmas because of its pagan origins, it should be understandable why Jehovahâs Witnesses do not celebrate it today. We take no part in Christmas parties, plays, singing, exchanging of gifts, or in any other such activity that is associated with Christmas.

Jehovahâs Witnesses take the same position of total nonparticipation in other religious or semireligious holidays that occur during the school year. The reason is that these holidays, too, are connected with non-Christian worship; in fact, certain features of such worship often dominate the celebrations. Consider the following examples:

Easter: Although this holiday is supposed to commemorate Christâs resurrection, note what secular authorities say regarding it:
âEaster. Originally the spring festival in honor of the Teutonic goddess of light and spring known in Anglo-Saxon as Eastre. As early as the 8th century the name was transferred by the Anglo-Saxons to the Christian festival designed to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.ââThe Westminster Dictionary of the Bible (Philadelphia, 1944), by John D. Davis, page 145.

Birthday Gift Idea (for male) - HELP!?

spiritsoce

Ok I need some help and I need it ASAP! My best friend/roommate/boyfriend's birthday is Wednesday. He's turning 30. I need a gift idea.
We live in Southern California. He actually just moved here from Texas about 6 months ago - he's a newbie.
He's BIG into sports (Loves Texas football)- cooking - fishing/outdoor stuff. He likes traveling and visiting new places and seeing new things.
He was in the military and enjoys books/movies that have to with military/history/documentary stuff.

I want to get him a gift that he'll really like and it will mean something.

Any ideas?
He LOVES sports! He wants to check out more of California (amusement/parks/touristy stuff). He loves to cook. Loves movies.

...one more thing: I'm leaving the night of his birthday (Wed.) to go to family's in Az. for Thanksgiving.
Not possible to make dinner, etc...that night.
I want to do something small tomorrow night and/or then maybe this weekend?

Answer
Are there any football games playing around the time of his b-day? Every man would die if they had tickets to a game. You could go away for the weekend and do some fishing and camping. And I would buy him a new book for a gift. But you should spend his birthday together, and don't think of going away for the weekend as his only present. Don't forget to give him the one "thing" he really wants!!! Happy 30th Mr. !!!!

Birthday gift ideas for my girlfriend?

Housefanat

We're both bi, and because we've only been dating for 2 months our parents don't know. It's her birthday this saturday and since we're in a long distance relationship i'll be driving to see her on sunday...but as of right now i have no idea what to get her. I can't get her anything her parents will question about, she's not into jewelry, i've gotten her flowers a lot in the past so doing it for her birthday wouldn't be anything special, i will be taking her out to dinner....it's her 21st, and i'm 19....i have no idea!!! help!!! i want it to be something she'll remember forever.

Answer
The best memories aren't really presents, but rather events in my opinion. I'll remember having fun with someone far better than a gift i'm given. Time is a precious gift, don't waste it, use it. Hang out at the park saying all sorts of crazy things, take her on a pretty hike, take her breath away by the way you spend your time together, not by a fancy present.

Good Birthday gift idea for girlfriend?!?

loserlol

Alright, lol....its my girfriends 17th birthday.. She loves winnie the pooh. she is a closet collector of winnie the pooh though (she doesnt let alot of people know) I have bought her a winnie the pooh water bottle as a gag gift.
Ok I have bought her a ring, and a pendant within the last year. so I was going to rule out jewelry til maybe christmas.

She wanted a northface jacket but they are 175 dollars.

I would get her a manicure/pedicure but she cant stand for her feet to be touched lol....

I want to spend about 100 dollars...i will probably order a half dozen roses...so we talking 75 - 100 dollar budget..

any help ladies?
thanks!

Answer
A boxed set of her favorite tv show on DVD
Find her an antique winnie the pooh on ebay or antique store
Does she have a jewelry box? That would be a nice gift.
See if her folks buy her the Northface jacket. If they do, get her the matching gloves, head thing and so on.
Depending on where you live, take her to a play or something similar.

Good Luck!

Any great birthday gift ideas for my husband?

Amy27

He is SO difficult to buy for. I can't buy him clothes...he's too picky about his clothes. He's into wine, chocolate, music, collector muscle cars, computers, and is an executive/frequent traveler. I've run out of original ideas on these angles. I even gave him a wine club once. I've bought him every possible professional / travel accessory I could think of......for previous gifts. I'm out of ideas! Any suggestions?

Answer
perhaps a subscription and receiver for satellite radio or maybe a GPS device (those are on the high $ end)

On the less expensive end, I'd suggest a nice 'coffee table' illustrated book on Collector muscle cars, or something like that.

A special personal gift that means more might be if you were to make him something. You could make fondue, or a luscious chocolate desert. You could download and burn a CD compilation of music (the old mix tape gift!) Maybe if a car show is coming to your area, you could get tickets.

just a few ideas, hope he has a happy one.

Birthday gift ideas for 26 year old husband? Creative please!?

all-powerf

He is a simple man, great sense of humor, mature, great provider, and never asks for anything. He is not publicly sensitive whatsoever, but he is definitely a huge closet romantic when it comes to me (when it comes to sex drive and romance, we have reversed roles). He takes care of me while I go to school full time, so the gift would have to be free or under $100 from money saved when I was working. I am very much willing to put a lot of work into the gift.

His birthday, Christmas, New Years, and our anniversary, are all within weeks of each other!

I know all the sex, head, massage, make a video, and dinner ideas already. Problem is, I cook all of our meals from scratch already, and we have some form of sex every time he is home. I also made him awesome coupons last year that he never gets to use because I regularly take care of his needs, including full body massages.

I want it to be special, and I know that he would not want me to spend money or anything.

If you are going to respond about sex, food, or massages, do not bother unless it is creative and unique.

Thank you!!!!

Answer
Ok Most of mine have to do with sex but are more creative. My husband liked them ( his birthday was last week)
- If you know is most unedited, dirty little fantasy you could do it it on his birthday. Its for the most part cheap. Personally my husbands is a street walker ( weird I know, but trust me Im sure he might have a strange one too), so I told him to meet me at night on the side of a street, I flagged him down. I was wearing typical hooker clothes and lend over on his car window ( Kinda like pretty women), I ask him if he was looking for a fun time. of course he said yes and I told him to tame me to a dinghy hotel I rented. And that was that. He had a lot of fun, maybe our guy might too.
- A day of sex. Last time my husband was mad at me I did this. I woke him up to a Bj, cooked breakfast in lingerie ( The really uncomfortable corset, he likes if so I decided to bust it out) fed it to him, basically this is a complete day of pampering and sex. Its not necessarily intended to get you off. I simply took care of him, No talking, no nothing. Just sex, and more pampering.
- You should take a naughty dance class. I was planning on doing this for our anniversary. My YMCA has a class It cost 75 for 4 weeks. You can give him a great treat by a professional lap dance. You could spend the rest on a sexy costume. Its really the gift that keeps on giving
- You could get him a nice watch, try this site. They has a lot of designer ones but they offers cheeper prices on the close out items. http://www.hautelook.com/events#all
- you can rent a karma sutra book from the library. Just make if the best sex of his life. This is another gift that keeps giving. If you buy one you can let him pick out all of the things he wants to try. I gave my husband one when we got married. I bought 5 different ones. He was like a kid in the candy store. He couldn't pick want him wanted first. Blow his socks off, put him in a coma. Do what ever he wants, he will practically paralyzed when he is finished but its great.
- I have given my husband a gift card to Fredrick's once. He loved it. Or you can buy it yourself and put on a show. I would head for the clearance section, more bang for your buck.
- If you have a extra room in your house you can make it a man cave. If you wan to do if for under 100 it will take a lot of work. You can find furniture from friends and family. Ask them to donate the stuff they dont want anymore. You can always reaposter it ( if you know how), and get some nice games. If you have an old tv or something you can put it in there. Paint chairs ask your mom and mother in law to help. Im sure they wouldn't mind if they have the time. My husband made me a craft room, I cant tell you how wonderful I felt knowing he had put so much time into it.

Gift Ideas for bedridden father?

prplfae

My dad has terminal cancer, and as of the last couple weeks doesn't really leave the hospital bed they brought in for him. I just realized today that when it comes to his birthday next month, and christmas, i have no idea what to get him. He doesn't get dressed anymore since theres really no point, so the usually tshirt with a funny saying on it is out. he litterally doesn't do anything. I was thinking some nice blankets, but then my mom just bought some new ones, and he really has plenty. I need a few ideas since both christmas and his birthday are coming up, so the more suggestions the merrier.
Skelli- nice suggestion, but he grows his own

I like the picture frame ideas:)

Keep 'em coming!!!

Answer
My father had terminal cancer, too. We bought him crossword puzzles (large print), more channels on his TV, a tempra pedic mattress pad, a large heating pad and my brothers gave him girly magazines!! His candy dish was always full of chocolate. We set up a digital picture frame and uploaded photos from when we were kids on vacation in Cape Cod to when he visited Ireland. Family and friends contributed to photo sharing. Those who lived far away were encouraged to write to him about their daily lives and accomplishments. We took videos of places we went to and played them back to him, he loved that. He was not kept from being informed just because he was sick. He loved to hear about how everyone was doing. It actually made him feel at peace to know all was well with his loved ones.

But the day to day stuff, visiting, was the most precious gift of all. I learned more about my father in the last year of his life than I did in 46 years.

16th birthday gift ideas for my best friend! Help!?

*luckylu*

My best friends 16th birthday is coming up, we've been best friends for almost 5 years and I want her gift to be something awesome but not too expensive. Nothing like a picture frame with a cute picture of us or a scrapbook or anything like that, that's too common. I need a cute idea, hope you all can help!

Answer
Does she like cute and fun items, plus getting lots of stuff in the mail?
You could get her a subscription to a gift package service. She'll get a fun surprise package in the mail each month and each time its full of exciting surprises!

The name of the company is fair ivy surprise package subscriptions. i get them from my friend and love them :) I love waiting for mail....plus it feels like she's giving me a gift every month!

UNIQUE gift ideas for my BEST friend for her birthday?!?

!!!!!!

shes turning 16 and lives in a different state so something i can mail to her.. i dont want it to be boring like clothes or gift cards but something UNIQUE.. but i cant of anything!! help please =)

Answer
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

Here are some ideas:

Stuff for her room - lamps, cushions, posters etc - 10 year old girls love to make their room their own.

If she hasn't already got one and she likes listening to music an apple ipod nano (and if she's a girly girl you can get them in pink).

A digital camera (Kodak Easyshare is a nice choice for this age)

Books on hair, nails and beauty for girls

Arts and crafts stuff - you can get kits to make friendship bracelets and other jewelry making kits which girls this age love.

Nail kits or an appointment for a professional manicure/pedicure.

I need an idea for a 4 yr old girl's birthday party!?

Anne Marie

I live away from family members and we do not know anyone around here. So there are no children to invite and I would like to do something special! I just have no ideas..

Thank You

Answer
Have a special day for her birthday. When she wakes up make her favorite breakfast and have a Happy Birthday sign and balloons hanging in the dinning room. Then take her to Chuck E Cheese, Movies, Zoo, Playground, Park, shopping, etc. When you get home have cake and ice cream and give her a small gift to open.

Cheers!
