-hates barbie dolls and all that stuff

Stuff for her room - lamps, cushions, posters etc - 10 year old girls love to make their room their own.
If she hasn't already got one and she likes listening to music an apple ipod nano (and if she's a girly girl you can get them in pink).
A digital camera (Kodak Easyshare is a nice choice for this age)
Books on hair, nails and beauty for girls
Arts and crafts stuff - you can get kits to make friendship bracelets and other jewelry making kits which girls this age love.
Nail kits or an appointment for a professional manicure/pedicure.

Have a special day for her birthday. When she wakes up make her favorite breakfast and have a Happy Birthday sign and balloons hanging in the dinning room. Then take her to Chuck E Cheese, Movies, Zoo, Playground, Park, shopping, etc. When you get home have cake and ice cream and give her a small gift to open.
