My friend is having a birthday party today, and she just turned 14. I am the same age, but our personalities are much different. I'd say her style is between tomboy and girly, but more lean on the tomboy side. Every year I give her $20, but I don't feel there is a lot of thought put into that gift.

What are some birthday gift ideas for a two year girl?

My little cousin is turning two, and I am clueless. She doesn't really need toys or clothes. I was thinking of a piggy bank with her initials engraved, but that seems corny. Any ideas would be helpful

At two years old she still wants to play. A piggy bank that sits on her dresser wouldn't mean anything to her. A great gift for 2 year olds is one of those large floor puzzles. The pieces are very big so it's easy for a 2 year old to put it in place, and the pictures are usually really great. They can take it apart and put it back together dozens of times and never get tired of it. Play Doh is also a lot of fun for a two year old. They love the feeling of it and love punching out shapes with the included cookie cutters. Also an easel and paints. Put an old shirt of Dad's on her, give her a big fat paintbrush and pour some colors into little tin foil tart containers and she'll be so happy. The easels come with rolls of paper that attach so that you just rip off the part she's used and there's a clean paper ready for her to do another painting.
