I love donating gifts during the holidays and this year I need to pick a gift for a 12 year old boy and 8-11 year old girl. Any suggestions? They indicated that it had to be at least 10 dollars.

Answer
skip the legos for the 12 year old unless it's a special kit like star wars or something (kids these days are too into electonics these days though)

here are some ideas:

GIRL:

I have 3 daughters ages 9,7,and 6.

they ALL love to make crafts of any kind. you could put together a craft set by gathering various items at your local dollar store (dollar tree has awesome craft stuff), walmart, or michaels craft store (they have a dollar section too). find things like feathers, pom poms (colored cotton balls), glitter, sheets of foam, felt, ribbon, beads (and plastic string to make bracelets with),etc. I did this for a little girl for her birthday and it was her favorite gift!!

or you can do these too:

What are some good birthday gifts for me to ask for?

Constantin

My birthday is coming up and I need to make a wish list of things I want. What should I ask for? I am a 15 year old boy, I like video games, Harry Potter, reading, and I want something fun or useful for my birthday, that isn't too expensive. What can I ask for? Any cool toys or board games I can ask for? What about Harry Potter or video game stuff?
Or maybe something bicycle related, because I like riding my bike?

Answer
Seeing as you love reading I would suggest that you could ask for a hardcover book such as the Guinness Book of Records or Ripley's Believe it or Not. They have heaps of fun facts and sometimes gross, yet cool, pictures in the books. A similar idea is to go into your local newsagent and find a couple of awesome gaming/biking/gadgets magazines so that you can write a list of these for them to either buy on their own or perhaps for them to get you a yearly subscription to your favourite one.

You could also ask for a small gift voucher (any amount of money that they think is enough) for your favourite games store, book store, walmart or target store or just any shop that you love buying your bits and pieces from.

If you like Harry Potter I would suggest that you check out your local craft or toy/games store for Harry Potter merchandise or a set that you can make scientific goo or other potion types of scientific experiments. There are heaps of these around and they are really fun and remind me of the potions and spells they do in Harry Potter. You could also ask for one of the cheaper scooter's from the toy stores, they are just as fun as riding your bike, if you don't already have one.

If you want something useful, unique and awesome, there is this great site that has mad tees, the designs are funny, original and most of the designers are in their early twenties or late teens so they have a similar sense of humor to people our age. Most of the tees are on sale at the moment ($12) and you can also get hoodies. I own 12 and in two years none have faded or cracked (also made from 100% cotton - so really comfy)

Check out a few of their designs:
