1st Birthday Gift Ideas.?

Hello!

My daughter is having her first birthday next week so were giving her a birthday party next weekend. I pretty much figured out all of the decorations, invited everyone, and now Im confused... What do I get her?

She absolutely loves elmo and cried when we saw elmo live in the store and didn't get it for her.. so that's number 1 on my list but when it comes to other things, im stuck.

One big toy and alot of smaller toys is usually what I give other children but since we personally only celebrate birthdays I want to give her a few bigger items. Not just toys, but just some things she may enjoy.


Any ideas?

Oh and if you have any game ideas for children ranging in age 1-30 (lol) I would greatly appreciate it.


BTW please dont suggest any everyday items like clothes. I buy enough clothes, and I've never thought as clothes as a gift.

My duaghter turned one at the end of June. I got her a play tent for her room. She loved going in and out of it. She also liked little ride on toys... if you don't already have any for your daughter. Mine also likes anything she can push around the house. It is such a fun age.. .but they grow up too fast! Don't you think?

Oh, and me and my hubby went to Build-A-Bear and made her a bear on her birthday. ... something she could keep for a long time. We dressed her bear in the same sortof outfit that our daughter came home from the hosptial in. We also recorded a message so when you pushed the bears hand it said Happy first birthday. It's really cute. :)

my little god sister? she just turned 12 and i only got her a shirt and a card. This is pretty crappy, im sure, to the rest of her gifts she's probably going to get or already got. my budget is $0-$30. any gifts she might like???

I don't know what the cost of things is where you live... but I got my friends daughter a manicure at a salon in town for her birthday. At the age of 12 they are just starting to find beauty things interesting, or fun. That will make her feel "grown" and special! Even better, on the card say a date a the spa, and take her to lunch before or after!
Also, Itunes is pretty much a no fail at that age.
Take her to the movie place and have a movie night with her. The idea of a gift that involves both of you will be way more meaningful to her and memorable to her that any expensive gifts she may get.

Another idea for something cute: âCrazy Bowlâ game (strips of paper with different âcrazyâ ways to bowl on them, such as backward, between the legs, etc. The kids pick out a paper and have to bowl that way on their turn.

Special gift ideas for birthday?

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up in about two weeks, in december. My birthday is actually two days after his, and we are both going to be 14. The problem is, is that I get home from a ski vacation the day after his birthday and the day before mine. I'm trying to think of something special, not too expensive. Nothing too sentimental, though. Just a funny or sweet gift that will make him smile. I could just get a friend to put it in his locker in school the day of his birthday, with a note from me, or wait to give it to him personally the following week. Help is appreciated! :]
ok, i figured i would get him a squishy pillow. (it's an inside joke) but now arises a new problem. a pillow case. lol. they don't just sell single pillow cases out there, do they?

Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not trying to get him to be one of those kids that play games all the time, but so far he hasn't played any and I think he'd really like something like that. I got my own almost 3 year old daughter a Nintendo DS and she amazes me how she manages every single bit of it. She loves playing games on it as well. I would personally recommend it.

How about a gift certificate for you to till his garden next spring, and if he doesn't own a tiller you pay the rent as well. At 51, I'm feeling the ravages of aging, and I would love it if my garden could get tilled.

Sharpen his shovels and hoes for him, since there is nothing like good sharp tools.

How about one of those headbands that you soak, with the substance inside that keeps you cool while working outside?

I've already gotten him the iPod, watch, sheets and comforter, diesel jeans etc for previous Christmas/Birthday gifts...I was thinking of skis this year but is that too extreme? Well, my boyfriend is around the same age (26), I don't know if they're unique enough, but these are a few things I've done: A nice blazer or coat, nice wallet, a really nice cologne, DVD's, tennis shoes, dress shoes, or if you want to add something a little unique, make him a cute/sexy little photo album of yourself or you and him for him to keep :-)

Clothes, Clothes gift cards, toys, toys r us gift card, books that are age appropriate for the parents to read to the baby, diapers, wipes. those are all useful things i'd appreciate. also maybe shoes or sandals. Ask for sizes of course
