Ok well, a girls birthday is coming up and she invited me to her sweet 16....problem is, I have no idea on what to get her for a gift. Any ideas?
Don't say make-up or jewellery or clothes or stuffed animals, because she's not a make-up/jewellery/stuffed animals kind of girl, and I don't know her size.
Answer
the best gift is an American Express gift card.
you can get it at any major drug store or grocery store.
if you dont know what an Amex card is...its a gift card that can be used for anything that she wants to buy.like a credit card
Hope that helped :)

How do you ask for money on an invitation for a birthday party?

My daughter is having a sweet 16 party. She has been saving money for a car and would like to somehow let everyone know we will have a money tree for her to help with her savings. Any ideas on how to ask and not be tacky about it? She is a very sweet girl and never asks for anything. Would it be better to include a separate card with the invitaion?
Answer
There's no way around it, you aren't supposed to ask for money. Gifts aren't supposed to be mentioned in an invitation. The only way you should mention anything is if someone asks you first, then you can tell them that your daughter is saving for a car so anything "car related" would be great. You'll most likely get money in that case, since she actually does not have the car yet. Hopefully someone else will organize something for her, that would be fine.
