60th Birthday Gift for the Mom who has everything?

Q. My mom's 60th birthday gift is coming up and all the kids are pooling together about $800-$1000 to get her a really nice gift. The problem is the woman has everything!!! Any ideas on a unique and meaningful gift we could give to her on her birthday? Thanks!

A. A 60th birthday is a milestone and you guys have a good budget to work with.

Is there a show in another city that she might like to? Perhaps a weekend away for her and someone else to see the show (tickets included).

Or is there something she has always wanted to do? For example learn to ballroom dance? Lessons might be an idea...

There is a company called Red Balloon Days in Australia that have some fantastic experience based gifts that might help you with some other ideas about what you could do for your Mother closer to where you are.

For a milestone birthday for my now husband, I arranged a limousine to pick him up with his favourite cold beers and had him dropped to the harbour where we took a harbour cruise together before dinner with friends. He loved it and will always remember it because it was an experience.

Good luck!

What are some birthday gifts for my mother?
Q. I am 15, my brother is 20
My mom is turning 48 (or so) lol
I need help picking out a gift for my mom
i want something that i can buy
i would perfer not to get one of those things that are from the heart, i.e. pictures, lockets etc etc

A. How about something for her yard from Lowes or Home depot, like a small fountain, or a bird bath...

What is a cool birthday gift idea for a woman?
Q. A young mother of 2 kids? I'm stumped.

A. The best gifts are the ones that are well thought out.
Not all women crave jewelry, and candlelight, (though
most will show appreciation for it).

To give a gift that's especially tailored, you need a
quick profile. Get your cues from these ideas:

---Has she dropped any hints? Hints like, "I need a..."
Maybe you can buy it, if she's the sort of person who
appreciates practical things verses extravagance,

---What does she do on a regular basis that is just for
her? Manicure? Treat her to a gift package from a
spa.

---Is she stressed out from the kids? Then have a
relative take them for a night or two, and take her to
dinner, or somewhere relaxing.

---Is money an issue? Gift cards from several popular
stores would be helpful.

---Does she need more romance in her life? Then do all
of the above---lol!

Looking for an online store that sells bat proof hummingbird feeders. Any ideas?
Q. I am trying to buy my mother a birthday gift. She recently complained that bats are draining her hummingbird feeders. She mentioned that they have bat proof feeders. I'd like to purchase one for her. Does anyone know of an online store where I can find one?

A. Your mother must live in southern Arizona. I've never heard of a bat-proof hummingbird feeder, and I doubt there's much of a market for such a product since bats are only a problem at hummingbird feeders along the Mexican border from southern Arizona to western Texas (the only part of the U.S. where nectar-drinking bats live).

The next best thing is to get some lightweight fence wire or tomato cage wire with openings 4 inches by 6 inches and make a "bat cage" to hang her feeder inside. It's pretty easy to do - just make sure to orient the openings in the wire horizontally to give the hummingbirds easy access, and make the cage wide enough that there's at least 6 inches between the outside and the holes in the feeder so that the bats don't just stick their heads through the openings to drink.
